Battlefield 2 1.4 Beta 2 Patch Released

As posted over on the EAUK Forums, EAUK_Sentience has announced that the Battlefield 2 v1.4 Beta 2 patch has now been released. Here are some of the new changes:

Hello everyone! Based on player feedback and bug reporting we are moving forward with our second 1.4 Beta version. This version has additional bug fixes and the following changes to the “Road to Jalalabad” map and the “No Vehicles” server option.

Road to Jalalabad
- Tickets adjustements
- Removal of 1 US tank to help address balance issues.

No Vehicles Option
- Added a new Server Browser Filter option for No Vehicles
- Return Health to default BF2 level
- Return Medic pack and Revive values to Default BF2
- Default spawn times to Default BF2 setting.
- No Vehicles is now a ranked server option!

We kept:
- Keep the current sprint bar setting (I.e. 2x sprint)
- Keep the current Vehicle exclusion list (i.e. we are not introducing light jeeps etc, just keeping the boats on Carrier levels).

just rename your bf2 again making the beta the version you are using and install as normal i guess :)

I was already wondering were the 1.4b servers went :P hope they used the feedback givin from players..

edit: I downloaded the incremental and it a 1.3 to 1.4, isn't there 1.4b1 to 1.4b2 because is gives an error

I am pretty sure you can install this right from 1.3, right?

But if you already have 1.4 installed, make a copy of the 1.3 folder (that is, if you made a backup of it) name it BAttlefield 2, and install 1.4 (2) in it. Then rename it back.

I fired it up, they changed the sounds in Road to Jalalala Bad some, toned down the wind noise, ah but now there's a bug where when you get around the water near the lake you hear a water spashing against the shore and when you leave the lake you still hear it *everywhere* on the map. Just confirmed this with three map loads, once it starts playing that water sound it gets stuck even after you die and respawn somewhere away from the lake.

They didn't change the way your weapon doesn't fire when you move from the prone position to crouch and standing, might be a slight shorter delay before you can fire again but there's still a delay.

Infantry Only or what is now called No Vehicles mode apears to be just regular vBF2 infantry and not the super soldier version from Beta1.

Medic change is here to stay, now limited to 3 packs not that I have a problem with that.

Wow, they actually listened to us about infantry only! Nice going, that's what we want. All normal dynamics, and the added sprint bar will make up for no transport jeeps. Now let's see how it is pulled off ingame.

Wow, it's sad that the only server running it is NOT running infantry only! And in the previous version, maps running strike at karkand didn't either.

I sure hope they run IO on karkand.
