You have GOT to be joking Talus!
The mode gives more options. Im sure you would mean more maps would also split the community. Im sure you want to lock down 3 maps for everyone to play, no options, just forced community with no preferences of any sort.. GOD forbid if they added Capture the flag mode aswell, then we would have more splitting of the community in your view.

And I allmost forgot the mods - they will split the community aswell I suppose, so lets stop them before they destroy the community. lol - amazing! I think Flipinomad is right - It is proven thru thousands of years - its not possible to make EVERYONE happy - just not possible. One or the other will constantly cry all the time. It's the law of nature. 10% of the community (on rotation) will allways ask for a change of the game.

For me - more modes means more choices and more fun and variety.

Well said. Couldn't agree more. It's virtually impossible for the devs to please all the various factions who play this game. I've read forum posts where people are complaining about stuff I couldn't care less about. People moan about the imbalanced jets, nerfed Blackhawks, J10 imbalance, claymores, mines, Tanks, etc. You name it and someone will not like it.

So you have make the game more flexible. Include more options for server admins to create the experience they want.

The Infrantry only mode, lets players battle it out on a level playing field. (Oh, and please don't quote CS:S as some ultimate infranty experince. The maps are tiny, it's one shot kill, the nades are useless, and then wait for 30 minutes while eveyone else dies before you can play again. They DON'T compare)


Oh, and EA, please fix the CTD and server disconnects as a top priority.

People who want your version of 'variety' can play unranked servers that are playing ANY map rotation or any mod with any ruleset...now THAT is variety.

Ranked servers should play all map rotations with no mods.

I have an EXTREMELY short list of servers that I can visit as it is that play all maps as DICE had intended.

When SF came out, that list got shorter.

When EF came out, that list got even shorter.

When AF came out, that list got even shorter.

When v1.4 and IO mode comes out, that list will get even shorter.

Sure, there are lots of different server types that cater to certain people...but within those types there is NO variety in maps...they either play 3 maps, or 1 map. So don't talk about variety...that is NOT variety...that is stale and repetitive.

sorry,but one thing is certain,official BF2 version 1.3 is not workin' properly so that should be first thing to fix.People gettin kickeg from servers after 10 min of play,hole servers ejecting everybody at once....frustrating ! Discussions about infantry only or wehicle droppin' is less important.Connection problems should have been sorted long time ago before half of community had left.Just have look how meny players playn it...it is a fraction of what it was. After 1.3 update nobody played half decent war,so hurry up EA

Hey is anyone else getting any servers to play on because I can't find any servers with my version. I just downloaded the full Beta 1.4 version 2 and it syas that my patch version is newer then the other servers I try to get into. Can anyone else get onto servers after downloading Beta 1.4 version 2?

Thats a good point, EF and AF should be free, everyone in my clan has special forces, EF and Some have AF, but we only play Regular cause every time we change to a AF or EF map everone has to leave cause they dont have it

-they still need to add civilians and structural dammage too

this may have been suggested before, i cant read 6 pages atm. but inf only should have a smoke option for the commander to deploy. Just like arty this would help troops advance through areas of heavy snipers. joad to jalalabad is fun with inf only but i must say theres just too many snipers...

Ok I have been off BF2 for awhile and I have the urge to kill people, Now with this beta crap , Do I just download this one onto the 1.3? or do I have to get the first one? Im sure this has been addressed but 6 pages, Someone be nice and help me out?

Also I didnt get armour fury or what ever it is, is there severs still running without that "boost" or "expansion"

It better fix the crash, because now I can not even play AF at all, it crashes every time and I have to reboot the game

omg you guys if you want servers you need to CHECK THE BOX CURRENT VERISON AND MOD, YOU CANT GET INTO 1.3 SERVERS WITH THE 1.4 PATCH!
