average FPS

guys i think im not getting enough FPS for the setup that I have

on maps like KARKAND it sometimes dips below 30FPS!!!

average on most maps I would say is around 50

here is my setup:

p4 3.0ghz oc 3.2ghz
asus p4c800-e deluxe
sapphire x800xt 256mb
4x512mb corsair xms 3200DDR
audigy 2 zs
western digital 80gb hd ide 7200 (this needs to be upgraded)

still what fps should i be getting, maybe im just trippin and everything is ok but please give me your input and post your FPS and specs.

Do you notice the slowdown? Numbers don't mean anything if the game still plays fine for you

ya i notice the slowdown, especially when it gets intense such as arty coming down, alot of medic, ammo packs and people everywhere

i should mention that im in hardware audio mode on high quality with EAX enabled but that only takes away a few frames.

so is this normal or do i have a problem?
what do you get?

I have the x800xt, 3.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM.

I get 85-100 FPS.

Do you have a lot of stuff running in the background? If so, your CPU could be getting bogged down. I know that on my old computer, having antivirus, music, and other stuff running hurt me a lot. Then again, my old computer had a crappier processor than yours, and 1 gb of RAM.

what is the lowest your fps drops in intense situations and what sound settings do you use?

i have about 40 processes running in the background, thats alot but still i think i should be getting more FPS with that alone

x800 pro
2 gigs ram

i still do get lag but not to the point as to where its unplayable unless im playing SF. have u defragged ur HD lately and checked for spyware.

im running agp 8x u guys on pci-e?

type renderer.drawFps 1 in ur console and tell me what numbers u get on a 64man KARKAND map...the lows and highs if u can

Im sorry but i have no sympathy for you.
Not because im not a nice person.
But because:
A. I average like 20 fps when im lucky or something. Takes FOREVER to load. Cant play for the first minute or so coz it chugs like crazy.
B. I play with ALL settings on low or off. and view distance at 75%.
30 issint bad. sure its lower than your expected uber l33t 100 FPS. but id be happy with 30 fps.

l512 megs of ram
ge force fx5600
1.8 ghz processor

Yes. You can change the video settings in the game or open up the video.con file in your profile directory.

I have a A64 3000, 2 gigs ram and an x800xl, probably near enough equivalent to your set up, and I get much the same frame rates on 64 player karkand running a mix of med/high at 1280x1024.
I suggest you ignore the vast majority of what most people have to say regarding their framerates.
You will hear a lot of comments from people running cards like a 6600gt saying they get around 80fps on high settings. It is my suspicion that these chuckleheads are running in 800x600 with no AA on 16 player maps that their older (15 years old) brothers are hosting 8 feet away from them.
