    Isn't that true for almost all PC gamers considering CS is the most popular game ever?

                Re: average FPS

                well guys anyways i finally got my FSB: DRAM ratio to 1:1 and after OCing my CPU my fps increased by 15 on average, so now its probably 45-50 on karkand 64 player. RAM is the most important for FPS in BF2. I even changed my video card settings to stock and it didnt change much.

                  if you're tooling around with a ati radeon 9000 pro.... I'd considering getting an upgrade... you can get a really nice and cheap card for 175-200 USD.

                            your memory and clock settings should be in your control center from the drivers (unless I have a different version than yours)

                              Here ya go,
                              I had fps problems. 2gig corsair xms, 6800 gt 512 that didn't fix. overclock my processor 3. to 3.6. that didn't fix it. Bought an antec smart power 2 450 watts... THAT FIX IT!!! Went from 45 to 55fps. To 100 to 110fps.
                              Old power 350w weighed 3lbs. New antec weighed 6lbs,,,

                              Knowledge=450watts of power LOL

                                Good question. I get:

                                approx 70-80 fps when creating a local server and jumping on with no other players.

                                approx 40-60 fps when playing single player, cpu controlling 15 players

                                approx 15+fps at times on-line

                                So, obviously my hardware can run the game at acceptable framerates, however just by going on-line, usually my fps gets cut in half or worse. Is this netcode, lag or what? Using Comcast broadband, advertised at 6mb, mine is usually 4mbps down, 384kbps up.

                                The above is running on a AMD Athlon64 3200+, Asus K8Ndeluxe MB, 2GB Kingston HyperX RAM, Maxtor 300GB 7200RPM 8MB cache HD, SB Xfi, GF 6800GT 256MB video.

                                I have changed resolutions from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 and adjusting shadows, texture quality and various other graphic setting without changing the above performace significantly.
