I don't get all the people who say the G3 is inaccurate post-1.2. On Sharqi, I can from the top of the construction site kill people running down the stairs from the TV station. I really love my G3 though, it's fun when PKM'ers run straight up to you and flop down on their bellies to fill em full of lead before they even hit the ground, whcih is easy because the G3 is very accurate even while standing.

However, the F2000 might just be a little better. I haven't decided yet.

seriosuly tho the undersized clip is a little bit of an annoyance, but it is nessecary to keep the gun in check. If you conserve ur ammo and make smart shots, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, nothing beats being able to run and gun(one of my favorite g3 activities).

The G3 has at least 2x the accuracy (deviation) penalty for firing while moving compared to all the other assault weapons. It's best fired from a stationary position.

If you like moving while firing and you also like the punch of the G3 then your best bet is one of the AK's.

There are also 30 round box mags available for the G3, but they are too long and prevent firing from the prone position.

At least firing comfortably and accurately from the prone position.

However in game I'll take the AK-101 and the AK-47 over the G3 anyday. I simply do not get on well with it's sights. I cannot shoot it well at all. I also find the mag empties a little too quickly.

However other's have no problem killimg me with it.

I play a lot of assault, and I have both the G3 and the F2000. Overall, I use the F2000 much more, because it is more useful in more situations. The G3 is good on certain maps where you know you will be firing from longer range.

In close quarters where you could be dealing with multiple enemies, the G3's clip will get you killed. The F2000 is much better. However if you are playing a bit more of a sniper type style on a bigger map, the G3 is good. You don't have to go hide on the far side of the map, but you need cover to change your clip often.

For example, last night I was playing the Mashtur (sp?) map, so I went with the F2000 most of the time. However at one point, the other team had a few people on top of buildings in good firing positions. I switched to the G3 to take some of them out from a little further away, rather than risk climbing the ladder and getting too close.

I prefer the AK47 & F2000 but yeah the G3 gives power. Although it's innacuracy is annoying and the M16 is actually more deadly if you learn to use it right. Too bad the Medic unlocks (especially G36E) are godly...

Oh well, more of a challenge for me, i don't like things when they are too easy...sometimes.

That is almost correct dude, but it does not "prevent" you from shooting in prone position. What it does is give the enemy a perfect headshot at your shilouette because the helmet will be poking up way too high making one shiny beacon in the sky. Even half of your chest will be exposed if you try shooting with a 30rnd mag from prone position.
We use 20 round mags too. The problem with low ammo is solved by never shooting the last round, because the mags can be daisy-chained, and switched instantly without the "reloading action" if you don't empty the previous mag completely, and still have a bullet remaining in the chamber.
Unfortunately, BF2 has not taken the the bullet in the chamber into account when designing the reloading mechanisms.

But yes, you are right the 30 round magazine is useless in real combat situations.

9 times out of 10, if a pkm guy pops around a corner and instaprones, and neither of us are ready, I will kill the PKM guy before he even gets a shot off (That clip empties so **** fast! It takes like 4-5 seconds)

true, G3 would win in CQB, but not in a long range duel.

I know, which is why i'm smart with it. I sneak around back of the main battle, wherever it is, and then come in from the back and just start killing everything in sight, and then run my ass out back again to reload, ready to get my pistol out... rinse and repeat.. lol. That gets me like 4-5 kills every time I run in.

i love it
it is my first unlock and it is certainly helping me on my way to corporal
i agree with many of the others
it needs more rounds
accuracy to me all depends on whos clicking the mouse

The G3 is not a bad gun. Far from the worst, but not my favorite either. I tend to like the F2000 just a tad better for the Assault class. Overall, I think I like the G36E best (Medic unlock). I'm not saying that one is "better" than another, I think it's mostly personal preference and what you're comfortable with.
