Well lets see if I can make this make sense.

I think that after 1.2 it's the best assault weapon but I never use it. Why? Because the PKM is so much better in most of the situations that the G3 is good in. The only time I even play assault anymore is when I really wan't a GL.

seriosuly tho the undersized clip is a little bit of an annoyance, but it is nessecary to keep the gun in check. If you conserve ur ammo and make smart shots, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, nothing beats being able to run and gun(one of my favorite g3 activities).

all in all, the g3 is (one of) my favorite guns, and nothing can change that

Well I think the G3 is best. Its the main reason for me playing assault. I own everyone most of the time its quite fun. 10000 kills with it too :)

It's all about preference. The Spec Op kit has always been favored because of the c4, the fun aspect of hunting down and destroying enemy assetts (and keeping the opposing commander on his toes) and the feeling that you're one of the most important people on the field. I've found that very few spec ops make it their sole duty to destroy assetts but I do my best to stick to whichever kit's duty is.

SCAR-L: The all in one wonder gun

1) Sniper! Put this baby in single shot mode and you've got yourself the equivilant of the Chinese default sniper rifle. No reload after each shot and very accurate. Three or four shots does the job, and since it doesnt sound like a snipe or give the damage count of a high powered snipe, they don't run immediately for cover and tend to look around them before looking up.

2) Assault! Not nearly as powerful as the G3 of course, but controlled bursts to the chest and a quick reload means powerful close distance battle.

But, if the gun wasn't in the spec ops kit I'd probably go with the G3. I just don't play assault that often because I'm not that good with it and I feel a lack of purpose on the battlefield besides just killing. Every other kit has a "purpose". They fufill some important task for the rest of the team. If support got a tool or a couple mines or something then I'd play it more.

it is a great gun. Just use 4 bullets for armored ppl and 3 for unarmored. Then 20 round clips should be no problem. I find the g3 more reliable than the ak variants. Packs a big punch and is pretty accurate. The ak don't tend to peform consistantly, the f2000 is not that accurate and the m16 just sucks at close range. G3 is my fave weap because it forces me to use the gun only for kills.

Yeah, it's powerful, but it's only accurate when you're prone. I guess if you're a typical PKM whore that I see on every pub these days, you're prone for the entire game and it's great for you. But I run around alot, and plopping down to get one kill wastes time, so does reloading after every kill.
20 round mag is a joke, but I do like the smoke nades alot better than flashbangs. If the F2000 had better full-auto accuracy I'd probably prefer it, but for me, the best weapons in the game (balance-wise) are the medic g36 or the SCAR-L.

The PKM is a monster when you take it head-on even as a sniper. What I found to work well is just come at them from another angle and if they're prone they can't react fast enough. On Karkand only servers I can see the point of the PKM owning the G3. But with regular maps I don't find myself dying from PKMs anymore than the other weapons.

The 20 shot clip is small but after playing with it you learn to make your shots count and after awhile 4 kills off one clip gets to be average. Carries over to the DAO etc.

To be honest I haven't touched the SCAR-L since I unlocked it. Guess I've gotten tired of trying to take out tanks with it. Medic G36 is wicked at medium/long ranges but for upclose killing I like the G3.

Think my two favorite classes for killing fun are the Medic/G36 and the Assault/G3.

PKM is powerful but you sacrifice mobility for firepower. Then again I still go prone while support.

Its funny that 59% of people voted that they liked it, but I rarely see the g3 used....im killed from it maybe once or twice a round...really.

Close range the dao is better while long range the support weps are better so why bother?

LOL havent played against me I see, I own DAOs all the time, and I own PKMS though not as often with G3. This gun packs the 2nd most punch of the game and after the 1.2 patch its very accurate. You can use your DAO or PKM but ill stick to my G3
Because I'M STILL KILLIN AND IM STILL GETTING HEADSHOTS. BOOM HEADSHOT!

I played around with it today cause of this thread. It definately is an awesome gun. I still missed having my "extras" though. But if it came to me and another person in a face to face, i always got THEM (less my health was down)

damn man I just started using this gun today... it was one of my first unlocks and I never used it because it was really unaccurate. Now it is a little more accurate, but accuracy doesn't matter for what I use it for.


Holy **** man, this thing.... in CQC.... omg... lol

Its basically best for sneaking in behind a main base, and just blasting the **** out of anything that moves. I was getting like 4-5 kills out of each clip, and I was SPRAYING! The kills at the top fill with my name whenever I get into a base... This thing beats out PKM in CQC.

I'm about to go play some mashtuur (I find that is the best map for it... car + G3 = lots of kills. You drive the car in the back of a highly populated area, sneak out, and just kill people.).

well i want to say i like, it but on most maps its just not practical all except wake. will thats where iv had the best time with it. it deff needs a bigger clip but most off all a better scope. some thing like the sa80 has:evil:
