Well, if anything, the G3 mag would be larger than a AK74 mag and almost as big as a M16 mag. THe AK74 uses 5.54x39mm rounds, while the M16A2 uses a 5.56x45mm round. And, since they both have the same number of bullets in them (30 bullets), i would presume the AK74's mag is larger than the M16A2's.

Out of my 235 hours of playing i've been assault for 60. I actually dont really like the G3 unless im playing with my mate, then I make him go support =P

I much rather the F2000, this whole arming time thing hasnt affected my skill with the tube either =/

Kinda, it was just that the person i quoted said that the G3 mag almost as large as the AK-74s, and be about the same size as the M16. BUt in reality, the M16 has a slightly larger mag than the AK74. Anyways, the G3, FAL, and M14 pretty much have the same magazine size. Also, the G3 magazine would be larger in width, cause it uses a 7.62x51mm NATO round, so 51mm for the width of the magazine, and the M16 uses the 5.56x45mm NATO round, so the width of the magazine is 45mm.

G3A3 fires 7.62x51mm standard NATO ammuntion. The factory H&K magazines which were issued to military forces (the G3 has since been discontinued by the way) were 20 round box magazines.

Anyway, I like the G3 but was disappointed that the grenade launcher capability for the assault unlock disapperaed. It's the m95 of assault though, so it's okay I guess. I get easy kills with it but the ironsights and lack of GL equals me not playing it that often. Like said earlier by someone else, my gun of choice is the scar-l. I can multi-snipe with it fast, have c-4 and nades, and you even get a silenced pistol. Only other better gun is the L96A1 =)

I hate this gun.

Its power is fun, and its accuracy is ok, but 20 shots just doesn't do it for me.

Il take an ak 101 or 47 over it any day...and yes, il even take the m16.....

the G3 can have a bad recoil but I think it's best for close combat. The clip is tiny which makes running into the middle of the enemy a bit of a challenge.

I love the G3, kill the most with it. One reason why I rarely use the FN2000 is I don't get smoke. For me, smoke and the G3 are a great combo when I just want to kill. I can't get 6 kills off on 1 clip. That's damn impressive. I get more around 3-4 a clip. Maybe a 25 shot clip or a spare one would be nice. I'd much rather have more smoke though. Don't see many people using smoke, I think it's amazingly useful...

I got about 30 hours as assault, 20 of which were probably with my G3.

Yeah, it's powerful, but it's only accurate when you're prone. I guess if you're a typical PKM whore that I see on every pub these days, you're prone for the entire game and it's great for you. But I run around alot, and plopping down to get one kill wastes time, so does reloading after every kill.
20 round mag is a joke, but I do like the smoke nades alot better than flashbangs. If the F2000 had better full-auto accuracy I'd probably prefer it, but for me, the best weapons in the game (balance-wise) are the medic g36 or the SCAR-L.

People still play assault class? I just don't see too much of that anymore unless they're diehard toobers.

I used to play assault myself, but soon as I unlocked dao-12 for AT, I figured it made more sense to play a class that can handle any situation instead one limited to killing infantry/light vehicles.

Never really played much with the G3 until I read this thread then I went on to Karkand and did pretty well with it. (Aside from the fact that the MEC were getting their asses handed to them..)

it works for me when im playing assault pretty good....

and speaking of assault do you guys know u can kill som1 with a smoke grenade...if u hit a person who has a very low life point it can kill them..

:hmm: happened to me in karkland..actually it was my teammate i hit and im pretty sure it was the smoke grenade coz i havent fired a single shot and i just joined so i havent layed any mines claymore.
