This thread is already becoming disturbingly similar to the Highway to the Boredom Zone thread. These "oh, you were on a newbie server!" posts have already gotten old, and aren't very constructive.

This video isn't for showboating, but rather a mild form of entertainment coupled with a reasonable demonstration of what a PKM can do as long as your aim is accurate and your firing technique is good. Out sniping snipers at huge ranges like the last few kills in the video is unbalanced, and detracts from the rest of the game.

Very true PW, i agree with you on both threads. I have done the same with the PKM.

People that wont side with you on this are the people that love the new patch. Its more noob friendly now and takes less skill to kill people.

Now servers are full of support morons and sniper morons. Hardly any medics around to come and revive you. I play medic 75% of the time and its sad, only like 4 or so usually medics rest are support and sniper and a few of the other classes. This is on a 64 player server also.
I have played support some since the patch and its so easy now. People like easy kills and points that require no skill at . Thats all it boils down to.

I find it funny after DICE nerfs something that didn't need it, people who support the nerf-fest steal the "adapt and overcome" clause. Once you nerf something, what's there to adapt to? It simply makes killing TOO easy, unless you call adapting the act of learning to act like a retard.

the pkm is an awesome gun because it doesnt really do anything when spraying it down an alleyway. The gun is at its best close up or far away single bullet mode. But if you just hold down the trigger it cant hit and elephant in a bucket of fish

They weren't. :p The PKM is hilarious. Bet it gets nerfed to 3 times worse than it was before the patch in 1.21 and the circle of n00bs will pick it apart again.

I thought about that. When Dice is going to nerf something, they over nerf it. It will end up being everyone playing Medic, cause all the guns suck, and the reviving will be the easiest way to get points. Or they will nerf medics

This isn't just entertainment "media" like a Sir stunt video. It is a discussion on the current balance of the PKM, with an attached visual aid to give this topic an added umph. Or should everyone who posts a screenshot to help emphasize their point stick it in the media section?

Nope - Standing up the PKM is more accurate than an AK-101/M16. From personal experience..

Loads of times i've taken out snipers that are far away standing up with a PKM and firing whilst they are prone. Loads of times i've died in similair situations, the PKM's accuracy whilst prone is good, but not whilst standing/crouching. Bit over the top

Your 2nd paragraph doesn't make sense. You talk about taking out snipers "loads of times" while standing up, yet in the next part you complain the pkm's accuracy is not good while standing. Which is it?

Correction: reviving people already is the easiest way to get points and should nerf medics (to 1-point per revive).

The medic is the only other class that can compare to support, specifically for that reason. Even though the gun on the medic might not compare head on with support, the revive and heal are both powerful abilities (and unfortunately great for point whoring too).

My bad, i meant that it's too good when standing compaired to other guns, and that it should only be accurate when prone.

I was kinda surprised by the fact that no one really cared about someone up on the hotel. Normally, at least the commander should have spotted and/or arty´d a guy that has mowed down 10+ of his fellow soldiers.

The video surely shows how powerfull the PKM is, but it´s also employed in a role it was envisaged for: Firing from prone, with plenty of time to aim.
What most people complain about is instant accuracy when prone and far too high accuracy in standing and crouching stance. These weren´t such important factors in the vid.
While I´m all for changes with the support unlocks ( reduce standing/crouching accuracy, delay till accurate fire from prone, generally worse accuracy without iron sights) I think the vid shows a situation where a lmg is supposed to own. The people down there had the opportunity to end it, but they didn´t.

4 medics sound just fine for a normal game. It's not ER you know. A majority should really be assault, not medics just because reviving gives easy points.

I've played lots of support ever since the game was released, and the PKM was my first unlock. Pre-1.20 I could be the only support on my team sometimes, now it's just too much. Some kind of modification is required to balance the classes. PKM should really have great precision when prone, if you fire single bullets or bursts. But some bullet drop should be added to make it a bit harder to hit at long distances. Standing should equal disaster, no matter if you go full auto or single bullet. Kneeling, a bit easier to hit with bursts perhaps.

But as for now, I will enjoy the precision in my favourite gun while it lasts.
