Yah with the burst weapons you have to be like, 5m away or you only hit with about 1 bullet.

Do you have the lastest patches. The accuracy of the weapons have dramaticly improved.

The guns still spray like you are throwing a handful of rocks. Use you eyes, you can see it for yourself. Go find a door somewhere. Walk 50-100 ft away (which should be instant death range for a modern assault rifle). Fire a few bursts at the door. What do you see? Looks like someone is throwing a handful of rocks.

Maybe the idea is that all of the soldiers are actually like 13 year old boys who's arms flail around when they handle a rifle?

You guys have just been playing this game for too long and you are used to it.

After playing a LOT of BF:V prior to the release of BF2 it takes a bit getting used to. Single shot is your friend, and crouching in BF2 is almost worthless since insta-proning is the new rage. Unlike BF:V you don't have to wait to get the accuracy bonus from proning, it's instantaneous and it doesn't mess up your view. So prone, ironsights, single shots is really the only 'magic formula' for BF2 infantry combat. Of course, you'll have to learn how long to wait between single shots, how close you have to be for full auto to be effective, when to use burst, etc. but that all comes with practice.

That's true too. I felt exactly the same way you do when I first started playing BF2. It's not that the guns (with a few exceptions *cough*PKM*cough ) are any better now than they were when the game was released, it's that I've gotten used to them.

But remember, even though you may miss with your shots, the enemy never misses with his. This is a fundamental rule in BF2: The enemy army always has guns that are more accurate than your army's.

Single shot prone wars? Sounds gay and most importantly not fun.

While I can't comment on the sexual preference of the guns in BF2, I can say that it can be fun when you do get the kill. It's very satisfying. But to each his own.

When BF 1942 first came out there was very little deviation in the guns, especially the US assault rifle. It was totally unrealistic. Then they encorporated bullet deviation into the game with a patch. It was much more realistic and it worked well. All of the versions and mods of BF since then have used bullet deviation. The bullet deviation on BF2 is simply rediculous. It is in no way realistic and is simply not fun for me at all. I enjoy using tactics. Not "do this one thing that kinda works in this game".

I'm sorry to tell you this, but it won't change. Ever. I'm not sure why this is such a huge issue for you, everyone I know is just fine with the way the guns are. Try going prone maybe? You're not a super soldier who can shoot the wings off a fly standing from 500m.

Whatever dude. I can handle realistic bullet deviation...like in all of the other battlefield games...BF2 is unrealistic and makes tactical infantry assaults a contest of rock chuckers. Who will be the lucky one who gets his rock to hit head? GO!

I know it's not going to change. DICE is retarded and will only make things worse. Which is why I'm looking for a new game.

Has anyone played Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer? Is it any fun?

Sadly, most BF2 guns couldn't shoot the wings off a chicken at 50m. That's the problem. When you put an iron sight on someone within 100m, train that sight on them for about 5 seconds, with them or yourself not moving, and fire, you miss. Not just once, but multiple times. The random nature has way too powerful of a decision in the way the guns work.

This is starting to sound like one of those 'I haven't spent the time to learn how to aim and fire a weapon' posts.

Here's some advice if you want to become a better player in BF2:

Try playing the sniper class. Learn how to AIM with your weapon before you decide to fire off the round. Apply this technique to every other firearm you use. Eventually you'll acquire the skill necessary for firing weapons faster than single shot AND maintaining lethal accuracy. Guns aren't meant to be used on full auto or burst all the time. There's a reason you have sights on a weapon.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the guns in this game (except for the AT kit) you just have to know how to use them.

I played 2 years of 1942, the guns were harder back then than in Bf2 Imo, I would grab the support kit if I was you, seeing you wont have to reload that much, but after, start using the g3.

RPK (Fire Rate) + Ak101 damage = Pwn.

the guns don't suck man, someone saying that is someone who doesn't have played many online games , it isn't unreal tournament or something pal , just leanr the weapons a bit , also for someone who played BF1942 , well, strange , because in BF1942 the BAR , was way harder to shoot with, and those weapons where fine for you ?

....Yeah the weapons are fine on BF2 once youve sort of learned where the sweet spots are. in relation to your crosshair, go on SF and try the medic G36E the most accurate light machine gun in the game.
