Too Violent? The nature of man calls for it, it sings to our blood. That is why you find the game addictive. Combat without concequence. In the history of man we are the first to be able to enjoy something of the thrill of combat without the horror. Tell you wife at least she does not have to smell the carnage of the battlefield, (unless you have not showered or wiped correctly) and even though battlefield is violent, she does not have to hear the screams of the wounded or the sight of arms and heads flying all over. Violent compared to what?

There's no way anyone would ever sell their BF2 cd key. The only possible explanation is that his wife stopped providing sex.

We met 7 years ago over the net, out of random she double-clicked my name while fooling around with "PhoneFree", while she was 17 and growing up in Brazil. We kept in touch over the years and she became a "woman", we met in person in June 05 after she came here for her PhD, we got married December 28th in Brazil. My point is...
She is 25 and I am 35... and she is wearing my old ass out.

Sometimes she simply lacks wisdom and doesnt pick her battles correctly, yet.

The wife and I lived together for 7 or 8 years before we got married. Nobody's bad habits came as a surprise to the other.
Well, except my wife has let out all the crazy she's been holding in. I think I'll buy her a straight jacket this Christmas. :)

I think you're making the right choice.

If she doesn't mind you gaming in general or having other hobbies (like the R/C stuff) and she only has a problem with this one game, then get rid of it. It's not called "being whipped", it's called "being respectful". (Just like she's respectful of your having other hobbies)

Now if she tries to manipulate you into giving up hobbies you had before the marriage and she knew about them then that's different. That is a battle worth fighting. (fighting to reach a compromise of course). If you give up all your hobbies, then I'd say that was "whipped". :p

I built my wife a second computer so she could go on the internet while I was playing.
She never gives me any grief about playing bf2, it's cheaper than going to the bar and getting drunk.

Or, you can just marry a gamer like I did :) Shes my bf2 medic! Teach her to be a medic and she will love the nurturing she provides to the team. But chances are, she wants you to pay more attention to her. If this is the case, and you are giving up bF2, make sure she doesnt puppy dog you.

Meaning, you have decided to quit bf2 and give her more attention. But when you do, make sure she gives you the same attention in return. If she doesnt, she is just a power tripper.

Ah yes... snagging a gamer chick rocks. The only problem is you double your household gaming expenses. Ya need 2 good comps, 2 copies of whatever you're play, plus expantions, plus a better 'net connection.

I might suggest an slightly alternative methode, however...

No fuggin computer during a fixed amount of time. Say, until after 6. No playing after 1 AM either.
I find I need to apply this rule to myself from time to time. Went so far as loaning my comp to a friend for awhile just to remove the temptation.

OR...

Just hide the game on him.
