This depends on how good the piece of arse is, vs. how good BF2 is. With the 1.2 patch I would say sell it, any piece of arse would be better then this junk.

It can be done (gf/wife with BF2 or any game) You just have to be upfront and honest. Set aside a game night and give her a SPECIFIC timeframe. You have to stick to it though. If you say you are going to game from 5pm to 10pm then at 10pm you put your **** down and quit... not a minute more. If you continually go past your time it will never work - build some trust. IMO it's better to play less but play more if you know what I mean. A 5 hour session is much better than 5 one hour sessions. If a girl can't handle one 5 hour session once a week then something is wrong there... surely she can go out with her friends for that long once a week.

I know this can work - I've been doing it for years. Once I found out how to be up front and lay it all out things were much better. Trying to hide your passion and stress relief (for me gaming is a huge stress relief) by gaming here and there behind her back, or staying up late all the time makes for a bad relationship. You basically have 2 choices if you are an older gamer like me. Live alone for the rest of your life or find a happy medium.

On the other hand - if you are having problems staying away from the game perhaps you need therapy? :o

The weird thing about women is how they always want your attention when you're busy with something else. My wife complains about 'that damn game' if I'm playing right when she gets home, regardless of whether she wants to talk to me or not. So, I don't play before she gets here. If she starts floating around, talking to me, I'll exit the game and won't play until the next day.

There's always a way to compromise to make both people happy. You want to play, she wants attention or wants you to mow the yard etc. Set some limits. You play on day X from X to X o'clock, and tell her specifically. It will work, trust me.

My brother lives in another state and is fresh from a divorce, so he's pretty lonely. Now we have Battlefield Sunday, where we jump in a server together and kick ass while talking on voip. It's always during the same time, and he calls me first, so my wife has learned that when my brother calls, don't bug me until we're done playing. Sometimes she watches but it's so fast paced most of the time she loses interest.

What it comes down to, again, is making a compromise, and that includes controlling yourself and setting limits. If you can't handle that, sell it.

Instead of playing when she gets home have dinner ready now and then or something - she'll stop whining :o

She just feels less important than 'gaming'

My wife got pretty upset with me, first BF1942 and now BF2. I just play in moderation now - Thursday nights are game nights, and I squeeze in a few odd hours here and there.

LOL I had it worse, mohaa, mohSH, bf42, DC, DCX, BF2, Luckily she works evenings
PS Joining a squad was worse for me. Dinner would be ready, and I couldnt come downstairs to eat, because we had a match in ten minutes.
