Take the good with the bad I suppose.
She "allows" you to do what she likes you to do, then throws a tantrum when you "disobey" her and do what she doesn't like you to do. And now she's trying to extend her veto power into things you owned before marriage... your knives, guns, and someday other things that she disapproves of.

One bit of advice, which will doubtlessly get me flamed: run!

Seriously, man. Run now, before she gets pregnant. You've married a controlling, hysterical child-woman. She throws fits when you don't comply with her wishes, and you've been married what, 90 days? Holy bananas!

Save yourself brother! You don't want to be there for menopause or post-partum depression, believe me. No matter how good the sex is, it's not worth self-destruction. Trust me on that. It never is.

Yeah I don't know, if he doesn't have a job, he needs to go get a job, and what's up with the locked doors? In my house there is hardly ever a closed door, let alone a locked door. I might be with her on this one.

If your wife is complaining, then you are not playing enough... You should play so much that she either files for divorce or moves out. Don't let a woman tell you what to do. Are you the man of the house, or the woman of the house? Why does she have time to complain? Isn't she washing dishes, cleaning clothes, cooking you dinner, and all the other household chores? You don't keep her busy enough.

Have her start mowing the yard. Tell her you need a foot massage while playing BF2. Have her get a second job so you can stay home and play more.

If she doesn't agree to all of this, just leave. Problem solved. Never sell your BF2. Stand up for what you like.

You are who you are and if she does not like it, :censored: her *** out the door.
I was playing video games when I was dating my wife and she bought me a Playstation and then a Playstation 2. And she bought me the BF2 game for Christmas last year.
But I also do things she likes, like shopping at the mall, take out to a nice dinner, watch romantic movies and she happy and can not say too much about my game play.
The key is to do things she likes and when she is happy, it's game time.:ar15:

The key is a happy medium, you are point with this. Ditto on the girlfriens/wife buying gaming stuff. I remember when Turismo came out for ps2 and my buddy and i were into the endurance races like 6 hours worth. We would trade off every 10 laps. Well my girlfriend(now wife) and his girlfriend(his wife) wanted to go outside for a nice sunny summer afternoon. We wanted to play. So we set up the TV with the PS2 on the porch outside and played while drinking on a summer afternoon. It was a happy medium, the girls got to do what they wanted and we did too.

Dashunde and wife - you may want to get some counseling. Talking this out with a professional experienced in these things would be much better than doing it on an internet forum. Marriage is a tricky thing, especially when you are new at it. Good luck, and I mean that sincerely.

Wrong! I have been married since 1999 ... Happily. We dated 5 years before that... so 10+ years is long term. She doesn't game, and neither did I until BF2 came out.

I do what I want, she does what she wants, we both have at least 2 college degrees, work for Fortune 500 companies, have a huge house, and are very independent. I have my bank account, she has hers. I do what I want, and she does what she wants. I don't intrude on her going shopping with her friends on the weekends, and she doesn't bother me when I am playing BF2, going to the shooting range, working late, etc. Rather than have our heads up each others a**, we like to have some level of individualism, and having the other one nagging at you for something they don't like is pointless.

If it weren't like this, I would divorce her or she would divorce me. (or never get married in the first place). It's much better this way. I hate people nagging me or worring about what I do, or better yet, complaining about something I do that doesn't affect them. They can leave if it doesn't suit them. Nobody owns anyone else. Slavery was abolished decades ago!

If I were Dashunde and my wife suggested additional companionship that involved me limiting or quitting something I liked doing, I would suggest she take up a hobby or get a dog.

Then there is still time for an annulment! No financial repercussions. No hard feelings. Don't go away mad....just go away.

I'd bet that if my wife complained like that (wanting companionship, complaining about my lack of employment, etc ...) I could trade her to some lonely sucker for a copy of BF2 Euroforce when it came out. I'd even throw in the 1.2 patch as a freebee.

hehe my wife is also pi$$ed off about me playing BF2 :)
Now I just play when she's not around.
What they don't see will not upset them.

                        LOL times 27! That's just awesome. :-)

A wife like the original poster has, sounds like the 1.2 patch applied to his life, taking all his bunny-hopping & noob toobing joy away in one "I do".

                          He's unemployed...thats her main issue.

She feels she "can make him" do what she wants because she makes the money at this point in time

Get a job, you have to pay to play.

Well, except my wife has let out all the crazy she's been holding in. I think I'll buy her a straight jacket this Christmas. :)
ROFL!!!! I swear that you just described my experience exactly...I lived in an area with no cable/dsl so it was consoles at that point. Then we moved to a broadband area and holy sh*t...

How about you make a deal with the wife, less BF2 if she invites a hot friend over for drinks on Fridays? It's all about the sacrifice.

One hell of a thread, this.

I fount that asking them to go down on you while playing works very well. Just an idea. (works better with PC desks. No room to pull back )
