The attack helis copped the biggest nerf by far out of anything in 1.2 Now they are nothing more than flying coffins. With reduced hitpoints, over-powered AA, missiles reduced from 14 to 8 and TVGM range reduced to 400m, only 1 person can count towards the cap of a flag, 1 shot kills from tanks, 1 .50 cal blows a heli before it overheats, 2 AT rockets and they blow, why did they need to nerf the attack helis like this, because of the cry baby noobs with no brains to take them down.

I tell you why because of noobs who don't have a brain and thought they should be able to take an attack heli down by firing their G36C at them and then wonder why they die, because you gave your location away firing a bb gun at an attack heli and tank whores that cried 1 shot should kill a heli when 1 shot in 1.12 left a cobra from full health to in the red with 3.5 bars health, 1.5 bars more damage and they catch on fire.

By suping up the AA to be noob friendly, point, 2 left clicks and your dead, also means now that planes are so deadly against helis as well. If a plane targets you now waits for flares to drop then there is no escape in an attack heli. 1 sec burst from a planes mg and your dead. Way to go DICE in nerfing the planes now they are way more powerful against helis.

Lars the franchise director must be a total noob to request these changes, and be a total tank whore, please pass that message onto him from me Demize. Guess what helis are suppose to kill tanks, not the other way around. Helis are suppose to kill ground pounders with their G36C's firing at them. If you use your brain you would find it was easy to take a heli down in 1.12 AA was effective against helis, especially if 2 sites were firing at you it almost always = death. .50 cals were extremely effective, especially if 2 were firing at you, if it didn't kill you it would make you run away.

I'm only talking about attack heli's not BH's. I agree they were flying tanks and should have had their hp reduced but why attack heli's?

I have over 200hrs flying attack helis, call me a whore I don't care that is what I enjoyed the most in BF2 and it was a challenge before. However hours wise I might be a whore but I flew for the co-pilot. A true whore only goes for the kills themselves. I wouldn't rack up a lot of kills but my co-pilot sure would. Thats how its meant to be.

I couldn't care less if people call me a whinger because those that do are the cry baby noobs who moulded 1.2 to how it is today. Well done noobs glad your happy.

Thanks DICE for signing the death of the attack helis with this 1.2 noob patch and listening to all those cry baby noobs. I spose if you cry often enough you get radical changes made in BF2.
Amen brother!

anyways... im pretty sure that everyone here who is complaining about the helicopter weakness is pretty apt at the helicopter, and to those of us who use it more than others; it sure doesnt seem fair to nerf the helicopters this far.

And sure, helicopters go down in real life from one missle. But the cameras on them can see for up to 2 miles in some nice focus. A TV missle has a MUCH longer range in real life and thats why american helis rarely ever go down in iraq

Although I agree to some degree, I like the new patch chopper wise. The AA missles are gay, but it makes the use of tactics a neccesity. No longer can you hover around setting up TV missle for easy kills. You must sneak around, fly low, use your surroudings for covers.

In my opninion, its more fun. Although AA missles should be dumbed down a little

Perhaps any idea for the AA would be for the missles to get lock on after each one has fired. Would slow things down a bit a give the helo a little more chance perhaps??

^ that would make a lot more sense it would give the heli a chance to take 1 missle and drop out of the sky (a roll mb?) and get into some cover before flying back to repair

I think it makes it hardest for people like me who are not in a clan, its very rare to find a good gunner, or a good pilot.

Actually, I do have a bit of sand in my vagina, and ****ed for other reasons.

The fact is though, the choppers now have more balance to them. They probably should increase the range of the TV missile, but I havent really noticed a difference using it yet. Then again, I also tend to fly with pilots who dont try to line me up shots, and go for their own kills. I usually blow the hell of the mobile AA that the pilot ignored for the tank.

What really needs to be done, is make damage to vehicles dependant on where theyre hit. If a rocket hits the treads of a tank, the tank shouldnt move. If it hits the turret, it shouldnt be able to move the turret. More often than not, if a tank is hit by a rocket, itll live, and the passengers will die, just because of the fact that theyre more or less in a coffin that can shoot back. At the least, they are disoriented.

Air is fine now, its ground vehicles that need to be nerfed a bit now.

...or, they could just blow up if hit by a TV guided.

Wait! Isn't that already in the game!? Well... I'll be damned.

So, your upset cos jets are finding it hard in the sky and are having to pick on choppers? LOL
I can understand your pain, but come on, you rant was of noob proportions. Choppers ain't meant to be that great. I love taking out all choppers in a tank. I don't expect to kill them with one shell, but you guys are easy meat, unless you got a good gunner.
But I do agree with you that they shouldn't of ****ed with the attack choppers. They were not hard to take down.

Re: 1.2 Death of Attack Helis

None of you actually got the interesting point from that long post. In public servers- all being Rambos´n´**** expected to singlehandedly down an attack chopper so they whined their hearts out. Most of those who whine actually promote infantry level teamwork and adress it as one of the greatest aspect in the game. Then we have HKS coming in telling you EXACTLY how to down a chopper, and his method has always worked, it works everywhere. 2 soldiers teamed up and doing teamwork actually makes up for 5 solo gunners. In real life and in game. You can EASILY disorentate and distract the chopper when you are gunning it down with someone. IF ANYTHING- this patch took down the necessary teamwork that was needed in order to destroy something that is higher in your food chain. If something IS higher than your food chain- its logical to assume that you are not supposed to kill it as easily as it kills you. It has an advantage rendering your useless. That is where you use the tools youve given. An attack chopper houses 2 skilled persons. So it would only be logical to assume that it should take 2 cooperating people to take it down aswell. Dont tell me about fun. Fun alone shouldnt be a factor to take down an element in a game. You get more fun if you create a working unit against a chopper consisting of a hidden .50 cal and AA or whatever.

By the looks of things- Rambos run as Rambos, but now they have the advantage of killing as Rambos, and being effective being so.

Theres one very important aspect most of you ignore. Were not talking about "pre-missile-launch" time. Most of the chopper pilots and jet pilots talk about "post missile launch" time. The time when you have to evade and use your skills to do it. Lets talk about THAT gentlemen.

Any new player can kill an experienced played by shooting him in the back. But were talking about a face to face confrontation when all the factors come into game.

If only it didnt have to reload. Here is a grounded helicopter (the TV HellFire missles are those bigass black things that the guy is plugging his 'uber hose' into you see how those missles are all attached to the helicopter wing, instead of some stupid 'rocket cannon' or something? They shouldnt have to reload.
it would also speed up heli dogfights

...wow. Just wow. I don't know what to even say to this, oh, wait!

You do know the A.A. was primarly adjusted to compensate for Jets right? I mean, they were kinda' the "Unreasonably hard to stop". Wait.. Wait, I'm wrong. No, A.A. was adjusted because "IT DIDN'T FRIGGIN' WORK CORRECTLY"...

I mean, what the hell, outa' all people I expected YOU to at least not spew this B.S. Yet, you're riding this insane notion that the A.A. was somehow fine pre-patch.

Yes. Teamwork could take down a Helo Pre-Patch.. Guess what, you damn sure weren't doing it with the A.A. Usually it was a combination of Anti-Tank, and a small Vehicle; Vodnik or somthing. It worked, it worked well. Although, you're hard pressed to use the same tactics against a Jet! A jet that can carpet BOMB you faster than you can aim at it.

...so. The A.A. is adjusted. Helos are just a victim of the tweak. That's all. Although, infantry shouldn't have to work exceptionally hard to take down a helo that doesn't have to work exceptionally hard to take down a "Tank/APC/Helo/Blackhawk/Anti-Air Vehicle/Static A.A. Emplacement/Troy"... Not like the Helo took the greatest of skill to operate Pre-Patch.

I would know better than most... (Backflipping to avoid A.A. was fun, back then).

battlefield series of game always produced a bunch of egoistical pilots who think that they have the most teamwork and skills.

WRONG. planes are very easy to fly, I am flying them the very first day I downloaded the demo, and my skill level has been constant ever since, it's really a noob's weapon.

Yeah I actually have to agree. Planes now take skill to get a good score with but attack helis had thier balls chopped right off.
