Then realise you should have backed up your bf2 directory before downloading a EA update on a German server.

Thats why I have a backed up copy of BF2. Anyway, I installed it last night (got the one from Dice, not German), played for a while, and I like it very much. Unless Dice decides to hold the official back and change something ( ) the one leaked in the real one. Servers are already updating, and logging onto official (ranked) servers hasen't been an issue.

Apparently the 'patched' version number is a 1.12xxxxx, whereas logic dictates the 1.2 patch to have a 1.2xxxxx version number.

The rumour mill is doing overtime at the moment, I'd just wait out for something from EA/DICE.

The 1.2 verison is 1.1.2696-528.0

Shouldn't 1.2 be 1.2.xxxx-xxx.x?

I'm not saying this is definate, and that for sure we screwed up and got a beta or whatever, I'm just saying we need to slow down and look more closely.

i pointed this out last night in the actual leak thread. I also make the assumption that the official incremental patch just patch fine over this beta without any backup.

if you were going to make 100 different versions until release and need to keep installing them over. it would be alot easier to have the incremental install right over the last one. instead of backups.
