The problem with some of you guys is you're not willing to compromise, you cater to extremes. This shouldn't be a time for "vengeance" against pilots, nor should it be the other way around, where jets were basically left unchallenged.

If you are genuinely interested in making this game balanced, then you should meet half way, AA and Aircraft should be able to beat the other, depending on the circumstances. Right now, there is no circumstance in which jets can remain airborne, without exploding shortly after take-off.

The AA is TOO acurate. PERIOD.

Don't make it sound too bad... My KD with the tank is nearly 2 TIMES HIGHER than my KD with the helicopter. Yet I have 5 times more time spent in the Helicopter... You'd think if I was after points I'd climb into armor eh?

Remember that when you are in a tank you have a layer of protection around you called infantry. Not to mention that often times you have this thing that will swoop in and take care of some of your worries.

To the whole 'pro' pilot thing, I have only flown a helicopter once recently (after two months of non battlefielding at all due to other patch slowing my old machine down too much to play) and even with my general crapness at it I still managed to rack up 9 driver kill assists and a few of my own, while basically hovering right above manned enemy AA sites. The only thing that stopped me was my lack of practice and my overambitious flight into a tree.
I agree, the AA needed to be beefed up, something was needed to put the helicopters in check. However, if this is infact the new patch... They really over did it IMHO.

Now what you will need before you go into an area is either to have infantry and armour clear the path ahead -or- defend your own people as best you can.
If you don't get it now, you most likely never will...

Tanks and APC's should fear air power, just like helicopters and jets should fear their respective threats, as this is realistic. However, the tentative 1.2 patch that we've had a chance to try is a joke and makes even the most skilled of pilots nothing more than free kills: you will only appreciate this fact when you have spent time learning to fly.

As for having infantry and armor clear the path for us!? LOL. It is the air vehicle's job to do that for you, not the other way around. As for defending people as best as we can ? That will be one TV shot here, another there... and that is the extent of it. Let me make myself very clear: if this is the final 1.2 patch, you are no longer getting ANY air support.

To you and all of you jet-hogging crybabies. If you feel useless now that the jets are vulnerable like they should be, then you were a useless soldier on the ground in the first place. You were just exploiting the lack of balance.

Oh so sad now you can't play cheap. But don't throw away your precious little joysticks yet. Use it on some flight simulator where you can have plenty of flying time witout EVER getting shot down.

Yes, and their threat is an ANTI-AIR BATTERY. You should fear it, that is what it's for.

This echos my own sentiments. Well phrased. Let's now hope that the patch is as you've labeled it:tentative.

I don't even think choppers were that bad. It's not difficult to put an Eryx into a chopper. I do it all the time and likewise it happens to me a lot.

You can easily avoid getting killed while just jumping out of that IGLA and run off. Jets will be shot down no matter what, as preliminary reports say. Thast not fear, not balance.

                        Not that I don't think it's good that it's harder to fly now. I just don't see any kind of "skill" sitting in an AA and shooting away 2 missiles and then get a frag. It's like having a turn-based game;

The jet takeoffs, the jet releases flares and bombs the stinger. 10 seconds later the stinger is back, the stinger shoots down the jet. Repeat.

Imagine the same thing for infantry, you push a button and you kill someone. Accuracy doesn't matter anymore.

Haven't played the 1.2 patch yet though, but this is what I've imagined it to be for a long time.

It would've been enough to just make the AC take less damage and the problem would've been solved much more fair IMHO (I'm refering to shooting down a plane with a jeep or similar, i.e skill)

I remember a mission in one of those WW2 games, maybe call of duty or the other one... You had to go destroy AA for the bombers to get in.

If you play along, then that makes for great squad/team work/strategy gameplay.

Unless, of course, all you want to do it take off right away with the jet and start getting points right away, and play your game alone in the air, killing people having a war on the ground, totally not involved in any other way. Oooh that was a long sentence. Read fast for best results.

What kind of ****ing narrowminded assumption is that !? Because some of us prefer air vehicles, we automatically cannot hold our own on the ground ?! Do me a favor and get a vasectomy before it's too late...

Seems to be a problem for most of the bitching people. They assume way too much. Me doing great airbourne has nothing to do with my perfomance on the ground and vice versa. Some of you guys need to get this through your thick skulls.
