OR, go hop in an AA which requires NO teamwork and get a gold medal.... hahah

Dude, trust me I'm all about teamwork. Teamspeak is a must with my buddies and I and we always play together. BUT trying to get another squad to work with you... DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. Being commander is different because you can actually communicate with other squads, but without that VERY IMPORTANT link between squads (being the commander) squad to squad communication is lost. Therefore you as a player are not only relying on your whole team to be teamwork oriented but also ONE PERSON (the commander).

Fact remains.. NO ONE will be willing to sit by an AA the whole round unless it will bring them points, I don't care if its your mother flying the helo...

      I agree.

We finally hear from a true pilot. Not a little vehicle whoring child, who wants to play a nice easy game. To them i say - Go play your Gamecubes.

Wrong. I have had people sit by Flags for entire rounds. You know why? It was there assignment.

You would be surprised how much people love the idea of being involved in a very well structures force. It gives them a sense of, somthing... it's just a sense ok?! Yet, whatever that is, they like it. They like knowing their team is counting on them to do that specific duty no matter what.

...that's the minority though. Nevertheless, people will defend SAM sites if assigned to do it. You don't have to be "Exactly" on it. Just, in a vicinity. Maybe detach a "Sniper" from your unit and have them Guard individual sites?

There are a mulititude of ways to approach the situation. It's up to "You" and your "Team" to figure them out. Or die.

...hopefull you just roll over and die so I don't have to work so hard.

Im just intriqued by the new concept. But it all goes to hell if there really is no way to get the lock off. Its really a n00b war then. POOR CHOPPERS I SAY! hahahaha.

You make it sound like everyone is looking for teamwork in this game... please dude, you either play on fantasy land servers or you are always playing with good friends on your team. I've had people tell me I was a great commander, but the reason people sit on flags is to defend them, so that they can spawn there. No one would "defend" something so that their chopper could be rackin' up all the points.... then everyone is on the boat goin.... sh!t whens the next one spawn!!! oh wait... all the AA's are manned now...

Ahhh well we better get the jolly ol' commander to give us some of his finest orders, because he knows whats best... In public land? pfff...

1 out of 200 matches I get a commander that actually uses a MIC

Actually, I don't make it sound like people are "looking" for teamwork. It's just now "needed" now, even if they aren't looking for it.

Also, no, I play on public servers. Also, if I'm able to get the commander slot (I don't go for it unless one is obviously vacant) 9 times out of 10 my people follow my orders. Things get done. Yet, I will admit, I usually play with really good people; folks I have played with before and who witnessed my tatics in action. So, naturally, when you do a god job and people are enjoying themselves, they want back in.

                  What can I say?

Oh, also! ALL of the A.A. sites are near flags. So, you're point on that is pretty moot.

I never said there wasnt a way to get the lock off. I said that if I got behind an enemy jet, he was done. If someone toned me....I would "work through it". Most decent pilots will find a way to stay alive, allthough i do think K/D ratios will go down even for them.

Well, you want to hang out by that AA site, or cap the flag? BF2 Teamwork involves movement. Movement to defend flags being capped by the opposition and movement to new flags.

Point is, and you should agree. That on any pub (I'm not talking about calling up your friends and arranging something) one out of 200 rounds played might score you this level of teamwork. And I'm serious, I've heard the commander's voice maybe 10 times in my many hours of bf2.

We are on the same team, we both LOVE teamwork.... but, it just isn't going to happen consistently and therefore the game and games will always be flawed until some orginization is taken with regards to teamplay.

Yeah, I love the new patch. No more planes flying over you and you cant do anything about them, now just jump in some AA and let it rip!!!!! I remember when it was almost like jets would tempt you to try and touch them and then they would blow you to hell. But none of that no more!!!

                              Yep.

The bottom line is: If you don't like the way Battlefield 2 has become, then just sell it on eBay or stick to servers with older versions of the game. I'm sure they'll keep un-patched servers for all the newbs to play in.

I'm pleased that the planewhores and chopper whores have had their advantage taken away.

Only thing I'm a bit worried about is that it will turn into a snipe fest.
