I guess I should start tankwhoring, since they were the only things that did'nt get changed in the patch, and now that they have zero air threat, and you have to get right next to them to hit them with c4, I guess they will be what everyone complains about next.
You do know there are Anti-Tank rockets, and a kit... right?

Its more than that guys, the airplanes are helpless. IMHO they won't even be used. I just joined a server and had 6 AA kills in the first 5 minutes.
Ha ha ha ha...what the hell do you think has been happening to us on the ground? We have been getting pounded into the ground from day one, without any way to respond. Finally they evened the playing field, its about time!
Maybe Dice will loose a lot of their aircraft whores because of this patch, but gain more people on the ground = fine with me.

It's really great man.
The Orbit Elite's trackball is centered right in the middle of the mouse, so it's easy to control everything with your middle finger. Really comfortable too. Don't need to lift my hand or anything.
9 times out of 10, i escape missiles by doing big flips easily with this thing.
Re: Anyone been in the 1.2 air? Its thick... in fact
Personally I feel that any weapon that has a 100% success rate of hitting is overpowered... And for those who claims that this makes the game realistic, then how about one-shot kills for every weapon? In real life if you were shot in the head once you'd be dead meat already... and if you have one health bar left IRL you won't be able to run around asking for a medic, you'd most likely be in the ICU awaiting your death.
I think that the AA should be reduced to around 90% success rate if the plane and chopper armour remains the same. Or perhaps the 100% element can remain, but design the plane to be able to withstand at least 2 shots from the AA.
I feel that the choppers are worse off than the planes in this new patch... the missiles have been nerfed, and so has the TV range. So a chopper would most likely not stay more than one minute in the air... I feel that the TV range should be returned to what it used to be. Not many people know how to guide a TV missile anyway, so it would just be an added advantage to those who know how to use it.
Anyway, I'm not whining, even if they don't do anything about it, life still goes on... I'm just stating what I feel about this patch.

I only bothered to reading to page 3 of this thread, and I have one thing to say.
I was a very devoted CS-player from battlefield vietnam was released (It sucked) till BF2 was released (It rocks). Before that I played BF1942. And I have never complained about jets or choppers. Now it is said. You fellas got us wrong.

Other notable improvements for 1.2 include a healthy fps boost, and useful support weapons that can lay down proper suppression fire because they actually pose a threat.

Best...thread...ever.
Once people learn to use their new tools, this sort of thing will die down.
But for now...it's completely unfair for a jet to be able to live an entire round without getting shot down once. No matter WHO is flying. The 'top' pilots (don't make me laugh) will claim otherwise because that is what they are accustomed to...not getting shot down. They don't get shot down, therefore they think that is a requirement for being 'the best'.
No...AA is deadly. So, instead of getting a 10:1 K/D, you'll get a more realistic 2:1. Also, this will give OTHER pilots a chance to fly now as jets will be re-spawning instead of being hogged.
As for helos, well, I don't consider myself a helo pilot, but I sure as hell love to take one up with a buddy of mine.
Will this change affect me? Surely. But I have ALWAYS played smart, realizing that a chopper isn't like a suit of bulletproof armor. Fly low, keep moving, know where the AA batteries are, use cover, pop up and shoot, hide while your flares reload....but NOW...NO MORE JETS UP MY ASS 24/7!!! YAHOO!!

I have not played in the skies with the new patch yet, but hearing that an F15 can now take out a J10 easily makes me laugh. That should not ever be happening.
If AA is as deadly as everyone is saying, I'm sure I will adapt and continue to own, but F15s killing J10s just would not happen so easily, and I'm a F15 lover.
The new Rainbow Six is coming out today anyway so I dont know if I'll be playing as much anymore, but I will probably make a new account for 1.2 and see what kind of K ratio I can rack up now.

You know, I could seriously care less. Hell, if a good jet pilot can successfully get into the air and make one or two bomb runs before getting shot down, then so be it, thats how it should be. None of this whole round bombing runs crap with 60 kills and like 2 deaths and those 2 being rams...
I agree. All those pilots started whining because they will not end a round with 100+ points. If you end up with 40 points you can say that you had a nice round.
Infantry gets that much on large maps (non urban) when you need to drive or run for a few minutes to get into batlle.
