You're kidding, right?
The minigun fires .308 win rounds, a.k.a. 7.62x51 NATO. Those are most emphatically NOT high-explosive. They're usually AP (armor piercing), ball (regular lead core), tracer, incendiary (not explosive) or a combo, like API (armor piercing incendiary) or APIT (adding tracer to the previous).
These are teeny tiny rifle bullets, guys. .308" in diameter, 150-170 grains in weight. Not explosive, flame-throwing, or any other Hollywood BS.
And yes, they sure will ricochet. For a mile or two, easily. Especially if they glance at a shallow angle off water. Depends on what they hit, but they'll bang around all over the place, but guess what? They're no more powerful than the regular .308 Winchester rifle rounds you can buy down at Walmart. Yes, the bullet types are different, but No, they're not explosive.
