We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Umm, no idiot. When was the last time you saw BH minigun bullet impacts make explosions? It does not. You are confusing it with the Essex cannong. Stop pulling stuff out of your colon.
You my friend are a moron. I really like how you show your age with the insult at the end. NICE TOUCH!
As people have said, the BH's guns do, in fact, fire anti-personal explostive rounds. How could you have missed the fact that there's a big 'ol boom animation where ever they hit?
Granted, they haven't modeled explosive rounds anywhere near correctly (in the real world, they generally DO NOT cause splash damage), but within the mechanics of BF2 this is simply the way things are.
BTW, this was supposed to be the balancing factor between the MEC transports and the BH. The MEC guns are armour penatrating while the BH rounds explode on contact. Didn't really work out so well, eh?

Stop being a jerk, especially when you are the one pulling things out of your rearend.
It has splash damage, thats why you get the blur thing when it hits near you.
I have used BH mini guns a LOT and I can assure you that the bullets don't ricochet (or w/e its spelled), its just the massive splash damage that the cannons have.
If it is splash damage...AND taking into account it was put there to aid your shots...how does that explain the guns on the side of the MEC/Chinese chopper where you can't hit anything with them unless you hover like a pinata?
I'm not challenging your discovery, merely asking for equal answers.

They don't make a big "boom animation" in fact, the impact of the BH minigun bullets look about the same as any other bullet impact in the game. Something else that I forgot to mention is that the distance from the bullet impacts and the player that's sitting behind the minigun in the BH is much too far away to cause splash damage from explosions. They are definitly ricochets in my opinion. Also, the few times I've tried this, I did NOT die from an explosion as I did not hear the annoying ear ringing effect. In fact, the first time I died I thought I got sniped out of the BH by a carrier camper. Only later did I realize upon testing that it was in fact ricochets from the gun.
Unless you were looking directly at the floor beneath you there is no way that a ricochet could hit you, and from the angle the minigun can fire at its just not possible...

The MEC transport guns have AP rounds, not explosive. I think this was supposed to be a balancing factor. The BH is good against infantry while the MEC's guns are good for killing light armour. Boy, that didn't work out so well.
Other factors work together to make the MEC transport's guns about as usful as a dead cat. Namely crap rate of fire and a worthless field of fire.
However, it's AP rounds can kill a BH's pilot right through the canopy. Good luck hitting it tho.

I think the MEC transport is actually better in certain situations if you have a good pilot and gunners. Those 50. cal rounds can really destroy chopper armor and from what I have heard from other players, can penetrate through tank armor and kill the driver. Now I'm not sure about the last claim, but I have had occasions where I was mysteriously injured while inside of a tank.
