    Ricochets: Confirmed!

Yes folks, it's true. Bullets can ricochet in BF2 and I have found a test (happened totally by accident) to prove it. Get on the BH minigun on any map with the Essex carrier, aim the gun all the way at the ground while the chopper is still on the carrier. The ricochets will kill you and your death will say "somegay-here is no more". Unfortunately, I doubt that this is effective for killing people in game. In fact, since most of the guns can penetrate through objects you are probably better off shooting through houses than trying to ricochet bullets off of walls to nail someone that's hiding.

    Uhhh, no.

Your dying because the minigun on the blackhawk has explosive damage type. Meaning, when it hits something it explodes, and you were killed by the splash damage of this explosion.

This is also why when a blackhawk bullet hits near you your vision blurrs and your ears ring.

Umm, no idiot. When was the last time you saw BH minigun bullet impacts make explosions? It does not. You are confusing it with the Essex cannong. Stop pulling stuff out of your colon.

Splash damage with bullets? We're talking about a minigun not a nade or bomb. How far can the ricochet?

So a virtual ricochet without the ricochet?

The bullets in the BH minigun are explosive anti-personell rounds. So yes, they DO infact explode, causing shellshock and damage to people nearby. It is NOT Ricochets damage. Bullets dont turn around 180 degrees.

No need to be an idiot and call people idiots either, son.

It's splash damage, not explosions or ricochet. Splash damage accounts for the fact that the game cannot accurately portray real life rates of fire without having lag issues, so to make up for it every bullet 'splashes' upon impact.

as stated, the minigun does splash damage, do you really think youre THAT good of a shot?

its mainly put in for playability, if you had to hit dead on, everyone would hate it

Everytime I look at BH bullet impacts it looks like tiny explosions! And he's right, it is splash damage. Bullets don't normally richochet DIRECTLY back at the gun it was fired from.

It has nothing to do with that. Again: The Minigun on the Blackhawk has EXPLOSIVE anti-personell rounds. Try shooting near yourself in any other gun, and nothing will happen. The APC, Minigun, and AA all shoot explosive rounds, thus why you are hurt even when not directly impacted by one. THAT is the true definition of "Splash Damage".
