bitlord.exe cpu 00 memusage 29,572k thats a torrent client issnt it and it should NOT be running when u want to play online. is you ever did get online with bf2 its going to lagg like a chaplin movie.

      zlclient.exe cpu 00 memusage 3,908k
Zone alarm right ? ... ive had issues with it resetting my pc b4 ... i use Sygate personal now... its free so give it a go

daemon.exe cpu 00 memusage 264k deamon tools right ? you should try unloading/disabling that as you may have issuses with bf2 properly detecting your copy protection (i assume you have a valid copy and are not using deamon to mount an image of a torrent )

teatimer.exe cpu 02 memusage 1,772k youve clearly got spybot S&D so try checking your whole system then disabling its active scanning.

hope any or all of that helps you.

thats what all of us are hoping i think...

i suffer with the amazing disapearing vehicle bug...

in that at medium to long ranges if i am in a vehicle when a put my croshairs on another vehicle that is manned it disapears... you learn to shoot at the gun flash or the man inside which you can see.

                Re: bf2 restarting my pc

Okay, so I've just bought BF2 yesterday. I installed, I patched, I click Battlfield 2 (NOT play online) and my computer does a full restart before it even hits the EA splash screen. Tis very very annoying.

Mobo: ASROCK K7S8X (BIOS version 2.50)
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1668MHz)
                Graphics: ASUS Radeon 9550 - 128Mb (AGP)
                RAM: 1x 512MB DDR333 PC2700 and 1x 256MB DDR333 PC2700

That said, I did try and OC my CPU this morning in a fruitless atempt to get the game working. I managed to get 1.84Ghz but no higher and it still wouldn't run.

I did download the demo and it done the same thing but i think that was more an Out of Memory error than anything else.

My computer tries to reset the screen resolution to whatever it is by defualt, I think it probably manages this but when it gets to EA splash screen it dies. I've already renamed the Movie files so that they wouldn't show but no dice.

If anyone would care to help it would be much appreciated, if you want anymore info then I will be happy to oblige. If this deosn't get sorted i'm going out to buy a new Mobo, CPU, some more RAM and a new HD.

Sorry, don't have info specific to your problem.

                      Just some general info:
Don't overclock to fix a crash. It causes more crashes then it fixes.
You can overclock to get your fps higher or less lag, but if it crashes set everything to a save timings.

                      Some things to check:
                      - Run a memtest to make sure your ram is ok, BF2 uses a lot of ram so any defects will probably effect the game.
                      - Can you play other 3D games?, This will give an indication if your drivers are OK and your PSU can manage. Although I don't think you even use the 3D part if you don't even get to the splashscreen.
                      - How big is your virtual memory/swap file? When I run BF2 with my settings it usually peaks a little over 1G, you only have 768 correct?

                      My guesses so far:
                      - Heat is not the issue as it crashes immediately
                      - PSU is not the issue as the 3D core is not yet used (you crash before getting into the real game right?)
                      - Either memory or drivers are a problem

                      Good luck.

                        Re: bf2 restarting my pc

not drivers, i updated them all, before and after i installed

the weird bit is that I've got in-game and i've been playing but i had to shut down all my services to do it???

I'm thinking it's a memory overflow or CPU too slow thing, it doesn't matter anymore anyway.

I'm doing myself a full build so i can get an epic system that will have no probs with any game for the next year or so.

If you can play when you shut down surfaces you probably do not have enough memory. How big is your virtual memory / swap file ?

Check the task manager [Performance] tab and look at the commit numbers (Limit and Peak).

Anyway, if you get yourself an epic system you should be fine ;-)

Any of you guys have a Logitech mouse? I've had this probelm for months as many of you know, but earlier on a tech forum, some guy told me to download the newest Logitech mouse drivers. So far, it seems to have worked, as 3 times I haven't had it in a row (though I've had the unmodified content error). I hope it works for us all.

Sorry i noe this is an old thread but i've jus started playing Single Player today n i didnt checked the forum cos i was ****ed n given up on the game, after playing on Single Player mode now i'm amped to play online but obviously my comp would restart on me again.

Well to BigFinger, the programs u've named out are all disabled when i tried playing online and it still restarts. I made the list with whatever i'll be using, on. So what else could be the reason? Is it because of my motherboard? my ram's not enough?
