Btw, that's gonna mean somethin got screwed up in your windows folder. I guess you could call it hardware related. boot.ini has to do with the settings of the startup launch of your computer. (many desktop editors now support the changing of the themes and other things). You might be able to find the default boot.ini on the net and just replace (I think its in your /Windows/System32 folder) and if not, probably just reinstall Windows.

I know - I've tried everything - nothing works. I managed to salvage some data by hooking the HD to a friend's PC. I've reformatted and reloaded windows (service packs and .net) and drivers. Now my screen goes blank every time I install the ATI drivers (version 5.12).

I'm ready to throw my PC out the window. :laugh:
