I would not be able to touch a good pilot in a J10, I can take them out of the game by engaging but if they've got any sense they'd lose the USMC plane no probs.
I've never met anyone that could avoid getting shot down eventually flying the F35.
i normally only get shot down if im going straight (while shooting/bombing), and i know they are behind me, but i dont care if i die at the time.
Ranking is not indicative of skill in this game. Most people that have a high ranking from flying jets, get that from bombing, not from dogfighting.
Frankly, 95% for the people that fly in BF2 are not very good and will get shot down by someone that is good regardless of what jet they are in. But, when you engage someone that is good and they happen to be in the J10, J10 has a better chance of coming out on top. Most of the people that fly in this game only know how to bomb, and that is all they care to learn because it reaps a bigger pay out on the scoreboard, which is probably the main reason for a big deficiency in skilled pilots in this game.
There is only so much a player can do, the rest is up to what the jet is capable of.
Some people just know the jets better than others, and they are much better off in any jet than the average guy, normally that comes from experience and that is where experience pays off in spades
Hehe, I know what you mean, 99% of the maps I play I could proberbly kill a J10 with a JSF no problems, but thats because 99% of the pilots suck.
The problems, its not possible when two pilots have equal skills, why?
- A good pilot will always check his 6, you can never sneak up on a good pilot, period.
- All that J10 need to do is pull back to get rid of the JSF, making dog-fight impossible unless the J10 is only flying in circles without any evasive manuver, in which case hes proberbly a noob and you can out manuver it just by flying high.
- missiles miss 99% of the times on a J10, (mayber higher since the last 100 missiles fired at me all missed), so you are down to using your gun to shoot down the j10 in a dog fight.
- J10 have longer after burner duration, you can never catch up, as I said above, the only way to damage it is to manage hit him with your gun at short intervals. (lets not talk about easy repair here)
The bottom line is, true, 99% of the maps a good pilot can kill the J-10 with no problems, however when two pilots are equally skiled a JSF (F35B if you must, although if you do some research you will know its called JSF) has absolutely no chance, by pure skill, to kill a J10.
And lets not forget, a good pilot can adapt to different tricks, there are different JSF tricks that can evade a J10, but you can only do it so many times before they see through it and catch you off guard.
Spare the words, truth speaks all, I have never, I repeat, never ever in my entire time flying the J-10, got shot down by a JSF in a dog fight (ignoring that stray missile that hit me out of nowhere or when im on the phone)
Haha. I really like the idea about getting road kills with an airplane. And by the way, Gray Fox, who the hell is gonna c4 the deck of a carrier. I mean sure after one swipe, but if they think of it then kudos to them. 10 bucks says scoopin' them with the jet makes them think twice about standing out in the open waiting for that oh so precious attack chopper and they find another spawn point to get a little action 'cause they're getting bored.
I use the mouse and I always dive bomb( i.e climb to about 400ft and dive to a cp area spraying it with cannon and at the last moment dropping bombs - quickly swoop up)
One thing i love doing is being a bomber and quickly hitting f2 (if i don't have a bomb designator) and target bombing armor
I have tried using other views on the jet but I seem to crash everytime i change
i tried using the mouse but its just too slow of a reaction and it takes too much time to turn and stuff...if u havent tried yet u should take a shot at using the arrows of your keyboard...they work for me anyways. But if u can get a joystick by all means use it, its way easier that the arrows
Agree 100%. After I used the joystick I can fly all over the map like a madman. This was after a couple hours of practice.
I use a Saitek 290 Pro. It costs around $20.00 at Wal-Mart.
The main things I am working on know, is adjusting throttle speed, and flying on maps with other things shooting and flying near me.
Nothing is more fun than buzzing the other teams chopper, then coming back around to take it out.
Hey, im new to the jets thing. I cant seem to get used to the bombs, anybody got any tips on when, where and how to release them in order to get some kills? Im gettin bored of dropping bombs on my way over a target and not gettin any hits!
