At least give the server admins on option. They control locks, kicks ect. Why not have a jets or no jets option??
BTW, it's not so much that there are jets in the game, it's those pilots that do the circle bombing, base raping and repeat it and repeat it on and on while the AAs just pass them by.
The other option would be that the plane must land to rearm/repair and it would take a minimum of 3 minutes to do so.

Then if they do that I'll be an unranked server.

Sorry sir, but I strafe bases with my gunns and shoot them with my Air-to-Air missiles when I run out of bombs. If I see a hit box for a vehicle I hit it with my guns - unless its a tank I usually kill it.

Plus when the commander puts UAV up I spray my guns in the area, careful to not hit friendlies.

The only place "safe" against a pilot is next to his teammate because most pilots won't take the chance of a TK.

It's true a good pilot dosen't bomb anywhere near his team because it doesn't matter how many people you kill the n00b in the middle of the base will always punishish and cancel the score out.

I fail to see why Dice did not include shoulder mounted stingers, they proved it possible when they made Desert Combat, and now took a giant leap backwards by excluding them.

heck, even a handfull 'swapkits' on the map where you can swap your vanilla kit with an AA stinger kit would be helping a ton!

I would be willing to trade one of my 6 AT rockets for a Stinger.

Plus, I don't believe EA/DICE made Desert Combat...they were a mod team.

Yes I agree, only children write legitimate complaints about game balance on a game message board. Real men tell everyone to stfu and stop whining no matter how poorly a game is designed and balanced!!

I'd also like to point out that calling someone a "12 year old" is the absolute most devastating insult over the internet.

Being a pilot myself, I can agree that planes can really own a map at times. From my experience even novice pilots can drop bombs and get lucky. All it takes is a random bomb drop on an enemy flag. There could be 4 or 5 people that get killed.

Although whenever iv played as a Soldier and am running about on foot iv never really noticed the planes. they just buzz about upstairs and i run around doing my thing. A plane dives towards me, i run outa the base quick style as chances are its gonna drop some bombs.

When im flying and i drop a bomb(s) on an enemy flag and bag 3 or 4 kills i can understand whoever iv killed gets frustrated and may come to the opinion that planes own everything and are way too overpowered or whatever.

At the end of the day the game is what you make it. It could be a plane constantly killing you with bombs or it could be a tank. Sitting in your flag continually killing you as you spawn, not bothering to capture the flag.

Lets see, the Assault kit get's one smoke grenade, choppers and jets get unlimited flairs (tanks and APC even get unlimited smoke) what's up with THAT?

A kit that had a Stinger AA missle would be so cool, especially if you could guide it like a TV missle from an attack chopper.

Yeah, but DC came out before they bought them. They were so successful that EA/DICE bought them...good move for them.

Well, if you play a balanced map in which jets are dogfighting eachother most of the time, I actually think it adds a nice feel to the map. But once they become more than a background decoration they start to get annoying.

God if EA/Dice answered every whiners complaints the game would be a bunch of soldiers running around with no weapons on empty maps... get over it and just try differrent tactics....

Life is a bitch, life sucks, life has no balance.

BF2 however, is a game, we.. or rather the developers, can make the rules, and therefor balance, make it fair, and fun.

This guy is totaly right, air power dominates the game, its been proven before. The only thing that can kill a jet is a better jet pilot.

Its how war works IMHO, The Ground Attack Fighter Bomber is the ultimate weapon in close combat war (before someone thinks of flaming, no I have no experience of real war, and I do not pretend I do, this is what I percieve from Documentrys etc.).

Although when it comes to ace pilots, I come to think where has rock, paper, scissors gone Dice/EA?

Exactly, I couldn't agree more, this game was intended to have vechiles, Infantry is not the be all and end all of the game, although with out it, there would be no BF of course.

You can't cap flags in a jet (except for vtols).

And if you hover with the f35b or a chopper you're a sitting duck for SRAW/ERYX. Air assets are not overpowered, they are assets. If you use it wisely it can be overwhelming. In any other case it'll be nice fireworks up against a mountain.
