Not really, Give two attack choppers to each side instead. At least it takes time for a Helo to return to base and hover to repair/rearm. Jets just fly over at high speed and like magic-instant repair rearm. Or maybe they are available for the first 5 minutes of the map for an initial bombing run or two, but once the troops are deployed, they are grounded.

They could also make the AAs rearm faster.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of jets, but they are way overpowered and ruin the balance of the game. They need to be taken down a few notches.

I agree, and i said from the start when the Demo first came out, that the planes would really screw up the gameplay...

I can't belive these players that constantly fly bombruns over the enemy homebase, and I mean constantly... You would think with the decrease of points for unlocks and ****, that they would stop with the lame gameplay. B ut no, it's doubled instead...

It depends which map you are on really, if you are on the gulf of oman you get 3-5 bars repaired every time you fly over as the MEC, however on zatar wet lands you get from 0.25-1.5 bars repaired everytime you fly over as MEC, so it does vary.

Still, having to land, taxi, turn around, rearm (same length of time every map ,1-2minutes), then take off again would fix the problem. Then the engineer's mines, anti-tank, arty and spec ops could take them out while on the ground. Now that would be fun! and would discourage their over use.


Bottom line is Dice/EA aren't going to change it. So we are stuck with it.

without planes bf2 would be almost pointless. i only ever use them really. the whole point is that planes are supposed to dominate and rip the hell out of anyone. what needs to be done in this game is to take out all of the infantry stuff and replace that with something that is actually fun.

So why don't they make a 'BF2:Air Combat' if they're going to make everyting so unbalanced.

but then the spawn time would have to be lengthen to longer than 1-2 minutes, since people would rather just suicide into an enemy only to have their plane reappear seconds later instead of wait 2 minutes to re-arm

It's not hard but that would be absolutly pathetic thing to do, as there would alway be someone waiting to blow you up when you landed, it would be a free kill, infact you could just mine the runway and wouldn't even have to be there.
What they could do and does happen on some map is you make it so when you fly over the airfield you only get like 2 missles and one bomb, and that is a bitch as it takes 2 or 3 fly bys to get your ammo back and it takes quite a while to turn around and make sure your lined up so you get them.

I dont think it ruins the game. Personally your only seeing it as so, because the blunt fact is you su*k and frequently get owned by flying planes that are weak as **** in the fact 2 missles from the cobra can kill it.

If you cant fly and help your team defend thats your fault, and I'll personally straight up call you S*up*d. Why? Because I had to learn how to fly to help my team in the air, and now I consider myself pretty good at it.

Wow! Is evolution going in reverse now? Did you even read what I wrote? Probably not as I'm sure all those long words and an oppinion other than your own would cause your brain to shortcircuit. I said HOW MUCH YOU GET KILLED BY AIRPOWER HAS NO REFLECTION ON YOUR SKILL, and frankly, I've never seen a less persuasive post in my life to make me think otherwise, as you never touched on that or the issue of the scoring. But, of course, I must be silenced because without your helis and jets, seeing how angry you got at the thought of them being taken away, the only award you'll ever win in life is a Darwin award (if evolution gets back on track).

Thanks everyone else for your help, but the only way you can deal with people like this is to give them some of their own.

Don't stand around in the spawn point then go move your lazy ass and capture another one, also you have to actually have some skill to fly a plane you need no skill to walk across a runway and plant mines on it.
