Or you could just hop out and repair on the spot if your an engy... or call for supplies and get full health from a magic box... jets can't take advantage of engie or support classes nor the suppply crates. Now if they did away with the supply crates your sarcastic statement might acutally have a valid point. Personally, I'd like to see all the armor have to go back to where they spawned or to a designated pad, to repair... or call an engy/support.

Heh I was so waiting for you to go there. Tell ya what. I'll stfu and eat your argument if you agree that airfields should only heal planes if another player decides to sit in a 'repair station' nearby. Fact is, the airfields don't require the cooperation of another player. Engineers and supply crates do. And we all know how cooperative other players are. Furthermore a single nade tube can take out both boxes and engineer - while your permanent airfield never dies.

And those scores people have been posting of pilots you can see the same scores on Karkand from the tanks and APCs...

If you look at the stats of certain people complaining you will notice they have hardly spent any time in a plane, yet some have spent oodles of hours in a tank...Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites...

Let's see..... if I'm in a tank I can be killed by another tank, C4, AT mines, TOW missiles, APC missiles, and infantry fired missiles. If I'm in a plane, I can be taken out by another plane and.......well, not much else really unless the guy who owns planes with his tank happens to be playing on your server. I laugh at people who defend airpower and point to armor whores as hypocrites. This game's downfall is because of airpower imbalance and everyone who plays the game knows it. The only ones who don't see it are either ignorant or intellectually obtuse.

Well I haven't read the whle thread because I'm sure it's the same arguments over and over.
But just reading the few on the last page here clues me in.

Not sure if it was mentioned but the Air itself is not over powered. (Except for the splash on the Cannons)

It's the weak AA that needs to be fixed.
We were promised an AA missle fix in the last patch but in reality we got nothing. The missles still track like the back of my nut$ and the MG's on the Mobile AA are pea shooters.

If the AA was even marginally stronger the Air would not be as much of a threat exept in the most skilled of hands.

As it is now, the most novice of pilots can rack up bombing points because the only thing that will take them down is the side of a hill or a tree. Unless there's a skilled pilot who can make good use of the Cannons will a Jet take down another.

I don't know why you keep posting those screens, the scores arent even that great. I regularly get 30+ kills in a round as an infantryman nowadays.

I dunno about it ruining the game.....I don't think it does. There is enough elements in the game to balance the airpower vs other stuff.
In fact, yesterday....lol....I had the GREAT satisfaction of taking out a fast moving apache.....over a long distance.........with ONE BLAST from a tank cannon!! It was the ultimate sniper shot!
He was high in the air too!
So I dunno.....I don't think airpower is ruining the game.

Lets compare the best Avaitor vs. the best Air Defense guy stats:

Now granted the guy who is Air Defence probably died many more times OUTSIDE the AA gun than in it (avaitors/helicopter pilots spray the area).

Looks like the Aviator is 5x better while playing twice as long as the best Air Defense guy.

I'm not sure if the "Air Defense" is the AA vehicle or a fixed IGLA/Stinger.

That's a good point, if I see a jet/attack helo coming straight at me while I'm in one of those things I jump out and run. I usually get bombed anyway, but still.

I love how people that disagree with one persons view instantly call the other person ignorant... Please this is not how you discuss things you don’t simply say someone is a moron when they disagree with you all that does is discredit your own argument and make yourself look like a fool...

My argument about armor whores being hypocrites is based on the fact that people are saying the planes get these ridiculous scores in a round when time after time people get ridiculous scores with armor... It has nothing to do with what can take out armor, since if it could take out armor so easily then why do people have K/Ds with armor much like they do with Planes?... If anything that just proves that armor is more powerful, since there is so many things can take out the armor but for some reason don’t...

Also a valid argument is that the people sitting here saying how easy it is to fly have some of the crappies Aviation stats, based on K/D and time used...I mean if you say it is so easy then why doesn’t your stats reflect that?

Finally the more and more this topic gets disscussed you see that the majority of the community does not have a problem with airpower. If that is the case then the above quoted poster must be calling everyone a moron...

Is it just me or is there some whacky agreement among pilots that they dont attack eachother? I barely see any pilots trying to gun down each other. Just because I was bored I dled some BF2Recs and followed a few "uberpilots" they never cared about the other planes.
