I love how people that disagree with one persons view instantly call the other person ignorant... Please this is not how you discuss things you don’t simply say someone is a moron when they disagree with you all that does is discredit your own argument and make yourself look like a fool...
My argument about armor whores being hypocrites is based on the fact that people are saying the planes get these ridiculous scores in a round when time after time people get ridiculous scores with armor... It has nothing to do with what can take out armor, since if it could take out armor so easily then why do people have K/Ds with armor much like they do with Planes?... If anything that just proves that armor is more powerful, since there is so many things can take out the armor but for some reason don’t...
Also a valid argument is that the people sitting here saying how easy it is to fly have some of the crappies Aviation stats, based on K/D and time used...I mean if you say it is so easy then why doesn’t your stats reflect that?
Finally the more and more this topic gets disscussed you see that the majority of the community does not have a problem with airpower. If that is the case then the above quoted poster must be calling everyone a moron...
I agree, well put. And anyone who says otherwise is completely ignorant, or a nazi.
Is it just me or is there some whacky agreement among pilots that they dont attack eachother? I barely see any pilots trying to gun down each other. Just because I was bored I dled some BF2Recs and followed a few "uberpilots" they never cared about the other planes.
Two reasons
1- Most self-proclaimed "good pilots" are actually noobs that prides on being able to level bomb on target and fly without crashing, they cant dog fight even if they wanted to (trust me I have seen my share of examples)
2- If you are skilled at flying its tempting to go after other jets and such, (planewhore proberbly) but then there is your teamwork. Since most other pilots in the air tend to suck, chasing after them is only benifiting yourself, not your team. Why kill that 1-kill-every-10minutes-if-luckey jet in the air when your teammates need you to bomb that tank right away? Espically on wake when chasing after a noob jet can mean your team gets crushed before you know it, a lot of times its only the one good pilot on the team thats holding the round up, once your airport gets captured (because everyone running around capping the most usless flag), round over.
Dont get me wrong I dog fight all the time, but for two days in a roll now after killing 3 jets in dogfighting I discovered the airport has been captured by that 3sec-killable chopper, and both cases I lost the round. While chasing after other jets is fun, a more immediate threat to your team as a whole comes from those noob flying chopper caping flags, die, and repeat.
i'm so sick of noobs complaining "i'm so sick of airpower ruining this game!"
I'm so sick of idiots spamming the forum with one sentence-waste-of-bandwidth (the same way they (the people behind their accounts) are wastes of oxygen) saying "i'm so sick of noobs complaining "i'm so sick of airpower ruining this game!"

This is because they can get a lot more kills by bombing spawn points than they can taking minutes out of their life to track down and shoot enemy jets.
I love how if they're flying a chopper or not dogfighting, they're automatically a noob. Classic!
Which is interesting since instead of flying around capping flags, succeed after 2 death and 5 minutes camp on the carrier, they could have flew around and make it more than a transport chopper.
Incase you havent noticed there is a WEAPON on the chopper, and yes, anyone whos in a attack chopper not attacking is automatically a noob, care to argue otherwise?

1. BF2 is a game of stats and the claims about Jets vs. Tanks are testable. I'm willing to bet that Jet ratios come out much higher on average - it only makes sense given the number of threats tanks face vs the number of threats jets face. The problem with both armor and Jets is that not enough people play the roles that counter them - not enough AT and not enough Fighter pilots. But Jets have the additional advantage that nothing else can really touch them except the very occasional AA shot [and this one guy who is apparently quite deadly with his tank]. Tanks have lots of other threats (other tanks, apcs, spec ops, grenades, artillery...)
2. Most people don't want to fly planes (which is part of the problem) - are you saying only someone who flies a plane is capable of judging their balance? This is one of the oldest (false) arguments in the world. Even that old bastard Plato said (paraphrasing) "Who better to judge the taste of a pie - the one who bakes it, or the one who eats it."
3. Its true I don't have a problem with airpower - if nothing is done about it I'm still going to go on playing the game like always without caring too much about it. Generally I treat it like artillery - its not hard to predict where a pilot is going to attack. I'm simply holding up the academic point that airpower, in comparison to everything else, is not balanced. I believe the facts (and statistics) bear this out.
This is the simpelest way to fix this issue. The AA needs to be better. They should work at LEAST 75% of the time.
I wish a mod team would take it upon them selves to patch the software....its not that it should be their job to do it...but if we're only going to get a patch every few months then someone else has to do it. With the state of things as they are, we need BI-WEEKLY updates with the community dictating what needs to be updated. The reason I say BI-Weekly is because this game is SOOOO buggy, that if one team were to take it upon them selves to fix it all it would take them forever. It should be broken down into individual problems which should be fixed one at a time.
On the mod forum, someone coded AA missiles that seemed to work TOO WELL....I think someone should just nerf his AA missiles a little and implement them in a mini mod that everyone could download and install.....he's already stated that he's fine with ANYONE using his code so long as he is givin props...
I really wish I had taken those free courses in highschool and learned to code...if I had, I would just be making my own mod as we speak.
