Be 40 here, in a few months.
Gaming is, well in a nutshell, awesume fun. I cant imagine me quiting playing PC games, when i get older. (heheh).
As long as i can click a mouse and somewhat see the pc screen...i'll be playing.
I also get what some of you guys are saying about talking to "youth" about gaming, why adults are around. LOL its kinda funny.

In all reality, i think adults, are more the pc crowd. I think that pcs were sorta a our generation thing, as far as games and pcs. I also think for the most part you kinda have to be an adult to game. I mean upgrading everytime a new title comes out....yeah. You all know what i mean.
The new gaming crowd tends to go towards the CONSOLE stuff. I mean, look at your local EB games store lately.
It seems 98% of the whole store is console...why our PC gaming stuff takes over a tiny, little, sometimes overlooked, pc area.
Oh well.

I'm 48 and have been playing since paper terminals. My wife also plays, sometimes more than me! So, there isn't any conflicts in this house over computer game time ...

Well, the Name is EsP-Grandpa, so I am definitely over 21.

My wife is a wonderful woman that tolerates the number of hours I spend gaming as long as I take care of the things I need to. I work 2 jobs for about 50+ hours a week so she lets me play when I can.

No wrist freeze, but my bum gets sore, and I am at that age where the computer screen is never the right distance from my eyes. With the reading glasses on I have to be too close. When they are off the monitor is too far away. Found a 25" (yes, 25 INCH) monitor at a garage sale about 6 months ago for $50 bucks. It helps. It's gonna kill me if it ever dies.

It's fun with the Grandpa name, some of these young pups just hate being Pwned by a grandfather!

31 here. Been playing since Intellivision was around. BF2 doesn't consume too much of my life yet. Once it's too cold to ride the motorcycle I'm sure I'll be spending alot more time on the PC. :)

Computer geek, and builder for the last 10 years. I only play a few games, and BF2 is one of them. Im very fussy about what games I play in my old age. A great one that suits my play must come along before I will buy.

Im mostly a racing sim nut (Nascar 2003 / GTR / GTL). In addition to my rig below I have a racing chair (a real one), and a $700 wheel and pedals.

29 here, been gaming since Atari, used to have an original Pong tabletop model, played games on everything from the Commodore 64 up to today's consoles and PC/Mac games. Yeah, I said it, Mac games lol. I am a junkie, what can I say. I am married with a kid on the way. I will play videogames until the nails slam shut in my coffin. If anyone ever gives me flak about it, I just tell them "Hey, I could be down at the tittie bar drinking and partying it up, but no, I'm home with my wife."

Gamer for life. Actually, there better be some damn games in the afterlife too!!

I'm 27 and get the same problems although not on a scale that my friend does.

His girlfriend will switch the electric to the house off and just last week threatened to leave him if he played BF2 for more than 2 hours at a time ever again.

Of course he called her bluff and is now sleepng in the spare room.

28 here, have an S.O and a 11month old. When I get back from work I have a bit of a session... more so when the little one goes up to bed (headphones sure help make sure he doesn't wake... I can't imagine what the imprint on his mind would be if he slept to the sound of machine gun fire... probably need regressing...)

But, TBH, computer gaming is like any other hobby. Nobody should have an issue with it unless it begins to rule your life and stop you doing things you should be doing.

I'm 41 and play BF2 more than I watch TV. :) I won't ever stop playing video games. They're fun, stimulate your mind, and it's a good excuse to upgrade the computer every now and then to play the latest games.

37 here. I've been into computer gaming and computers since 1991. I used to be into flight simulations but that kind of died off.

My friends and I were one of the first ones in hawaii to have doom the demo. The day it came out we ftp'd it from a local bbs that offered the only public internet at the time, and this was pirated via a sympathetic student from the local university. hehe, great use of bandwidth:)

I've played a ton of games since then and even though I'm older now I'm still hooked on computer gaming.

About work, my boss is an avid computer gamer that understands. But, talk to anyone else is of no use. Only gamers understand gamers. Work hard, play hard, do what you want in life. My reaction times in FPS games aren't what they used to be, but I still love playing games like bf2.

A fighting Forty year old here.
Its my main hobby and past time. I waste no time watching carp on telly and doing other irrelevent tasks. I game and i game hard.
I get fully immersed and play every single day. My situation is very priviliged and i appreciate it to the max.
I have lived on my own now for over 8 years so there's knowone to upset or annoy. Just me and my Frank staffy dog.
When i was a child i played Space invaders and Asteroids dreaming of things to come. Now i am in the future and have this incredible system/connection and games to play i cannot beleive my luck.
Comm 64's Atari's Amiga's tape load Dial up Dropped connections pfff the journey has been long and hard abounded with frustration.
Nowadays i play on servers with up to 64 peeps on jets choppers tanks Av's jeeps different classes fabulous connections lightning speeds.
Then i may sim race for a bit, whatever.
Over the last couple of years with the major improvements all round it has taken up more and more time. Some of my friends call me the hermit where as it used to be Mad Malc.
They all have wives kids and busy lives though, me i concentrate on pleasuring myself. Hand use yes but not how you think.

As far as others understanding TBH the only peeps that understand are other hard core gamers. I freak some of my online mates out with the amount i play and the amount i get invloved in the title i am playing and they game themselves. :laugh:
Its not just the gaming though its the communitys and my system as well. I spend a great deal of time tweaking my system and the current game and searching out more info thats relevent.
I also spend a great deal off time posting and lurking the forums i frequent.

I must say i have noticed more and more older dudes about especially with batt2. Woot for that.

I don't know if anybody knows this server, but I believe there's a clan called AGE (Aged Gamers Elite) that I used to play on. They seriously talked like older people (Vietnam war, Bush, etc) and not getting some from their GF like I hear on some other servers. I'm only 13, but I talk to them about what they're talking about and it's fun.

50+ here. Been playing computer games since I bought my 12 mhz 286 with a 20 meg HD running DOS.

Made my third build just to fit BF2. (Run EVERYTHING on high)

Wife doesn't mind. Bought her a beautiful fast laptop & she sits next to me surfing on it and doing whatever it is she does (usually spending money ordering stuff) and, of course, we take the laptop on vacations & I play on it when we are away.

Just joined a clan, Frag, http://www.fragnastika.net/nuke/index.php where most are my son's age. They teach me a lot, are vastly better than I am, and treat me like a brother in spite of all my deficiencies. They are a terrific group and always looking to add to their ranks if you're interested.

I am having a ball & will probably do so until my hands shake too much to use a mouse
