Old Geezer Players

I would be interested in starting a thread for those who are in the "40-something to 99+ year old" age group . . . Just to see if there are any other guys who waste their precious time like I do.

Do you tell your friends you play? What about co-workers and colleagues? How does your wife/girlfriend/S.O./partner handle your game playing? Are you a computer addict? Maybe just a nerd? Any veterans out there who play, thoughts about war games in general? Does your hand seize up from time to time like mine does? How about your prostate? You get the idea . . . . :)

If the thread works, fine, otherwise I will mow the lawn . . .

I am only 22 but i can promise you i will be playing computer games till the day i die and i could not give a toss what any of freinds thought or my wife /girlfriend

Heh-heh, you say that now, but someday when you are CEO of a major corporation, and an interviewer asks you waht you do in your spare time, you may have a different answer! I hope not, but to be a so-called "responsible" adult and play first person shooters, not everyone understands!

I'm 38, a veteran, a computer addict, and my friends know I play. The subject hasn't come up at work. I drive a truck so I don't have a water cooler to hang around and gossip.

I'm 42 and I play BF2. I played the hell out of Bf1942. Tell my co-workers, friends, family, etc.? Of course! To do otherwise would be to act like there something wrong with it.

This is MY spare time. I decide how and when to use it!

Am I responsible adult? Absolutely!

Just because I play computers games doesn't make me a kid or irresponsible. It's my hobby and I enjoy it.

35 Here, with wife and 3 kids. Haven't quit reached the 40 mark yet. Have noticed my right hand gets cramped up from time to time. Can't stay up as late as I use to. :laugh:

I plan on playing in my 60's also. Maybe by then the Battlefield series will actually have games that you can 'feel' LOL.

Yeah, my "playing stamina" isn't what it used to be. One last thing I forgot to mention, my wife doesn't have a problem with my computer gaming. Why? Because I'm mature enough not to spend all my time at the computer. Hell, I don't think my back could take it anymore either LOL!

late thirties here. I have to keep it secret like a drug habit, I'm very grown up in all other areas of my life but I don't let it be known I play video games- its an annoying habit born of the Atari I can't get rid of.
Oh Yeah and the Wife absolutely hates me playing BF.Funny thing some of the absolute best players in 42 were in their early forties!!

We can tell you what bunch of old online farts do all day . Thing about OGz or old guys that play online games together, is that we prefer the "family/clan brother" aspect more than winning or the game itself. Plus we have a type of "convention" every year, just get together and hang out.

50 here Started playing PC games on Windows 3.1 when the original DOOM first came out and have been addicted ever sense.

The wife doesn't care how much I play games because I get all the other things taken care of before I start playing.

Yeah I started on an XT in 1986 playing Sub Battle Simulator (another EA title LOL!). Back in those days it was the command line...DOS 3.1 I think.

At work I watch the forums every now and then(like now)
so colleagues know what I do in spair time, but dont understand it
and so is my parner :)
Funny I talk with my brother in law`s kid about games and his father doesnt understand a word we say..

17, last gf hated Counter Strike, new gf doesnt mind me playing BF2 for a rediculously long times as she just calls me when im playing it lol

i'm 45 and only had a computer for 2 years
bf2 is the first FPS that i have played and i love it, family, friends and work all know i love it too :)

last girlfriend said to me one night "it's that bloody pc or me"
the "bloody pc" is now much upgraded and runs like a dream(except when i enable VOIP )
it's such a pity i cant upgrade my reflexes as well

there's no doubt i will be a gamer for the rest of my life
