I also feel the graphics had changed somewhat. just felt something was diff

also the sounds are diff. the voices are not the same as before

and I also noticed some bugs with the sounds 3d. for some reason now if I for instance sit in a boat I dont hear the engine at all. I gotta turn towards the boat engine to hear it. same with anything else. u gotta look straight at from where the sound is coming from to really hear it. dunno if it's just me but nothing has changed on my end...

I cant say I noticed the graphic changes, but mine is running a lot jumpier/choppier since I've updated

I might try clearing the cache

I did notice when I was in the BH that when I looked up toward the rotors, I couldnt hear the engine any more. LOL But this was BEFORE the patch.

I think they look better. And they added alot of sound detail.... Kudos to EA in the graphics and sound department of this patch.

And I dont get random lagg spikes anymore!!!!! Clear and free of laggg..

I also noticed that gunning in the jeeps & top of tank are SO much smoother.

I was a lurker here but I thought I'd register to explain my theory about why things look different.

At my office, every lunch time we throw in a lan of BF2. When we all installed the new patch to play, everybody said "What's wrong? That's not low settings!"

We all have the same machine, so everybody had this bug: even though our graphic settings were still all on low, the in-game result was definately something around medium/high.

I think that the people who think that the game looks cartoonier/crispier are people like us who were playing on lower settings and saw the game with the graphics upped a bit, because of the bug.

I don't know what the hell you're all talking about.

How could the game possibly look more 'cartoony'?

Maybe they optimized the shaders or something and so everything has a slightly different 'shading' effect to it, but I really really really don't think Dice did anything to make the game look more cartoony. That is absolutely ridiculous and the fact that a lot of people have said the game looks the same proves that nothing, if anything very small, has changed.

I noticed much better performance overall and sharper textures, which suggests the game was OPTIMIZED like Dice said they were doing for this patch. I am almost willing to bet money that Dice did not actively change anything to make the game more cartoony. You're all on crack.

Honestly I can't believe so many of you blindly followed this ridiculous idea/ideology.

Hmm this is kinda what I was thinking too. When i first installed the patch everything looked different but i couldnt put my finger on it. So I cleared the cache and hit apply again on my video settings to make sure they were saved right. Sure enough it re-optimized shaders and everything looked right again. Perhaps theres a bug with video detail settings reverting to default even thought the ingame menu doesnt reflect it or something.

No prob's here, high settings all around, less lag, gameplay seems to move more fluidly now.

Actually m8 your right.I made this up just because I was bored get a grip man! Think my eyes and brain can tell me if it looks different in anyway even if it is a little difference.We're all on crack!? What c*ck! That probably explains why I'm so skinny with sunken facial features and have the time and money to play on PC Games ......Class A Muppet
