The new patch sounds like its goin to make a lot of 1st sargeants/master sargeants etc, how on earth will the commander be elected if we're all the same rank? who loads the map 1st and therefore gets to apply for commander 1st?

A players rank has nothing to do with who gets to be commander. It is based off of who has the most commander points.
For example: Cpl. who has 3000 commander points will be commander over a 1stSgt. who has 1000 commander points.

If they are indeed lowering the point values for enlisted ranks, I'd love to see officer ranks appear.
2nd Lt., 1st Lt., Capt., Maj., Lt. Col., Col., and General.
More unlocks for each officer rank would nice too...

I don't care if they reduce the ranks. I already picked up Sergeant with less than 200 hours played and I think I have around 27K points right now. If this patch gives me another unlock, I'll be happier than a pig in you know what. Right now, the server I play on usually has about 5-6 Sergeants 10 Corporals and 1-2 Staff Sergeants so tommorrow if everyone is a Sergeant, I'll be a SSgt or a Gunny and I'll still be owning noobs in my daily unwind from the Insurance Industry.

Now I'm really excited to get home and wait around for the patch to come out.
