Reduction of Points Required for Ranks

Ok, so most ppl will be like "yay" i can have more unlocks and get a higher rank etc.. etc... but personally I think the points should stay as they are or at least reduce the higher ranks not the lower ones ie: Pvt 1st Class, Corporal, Lance Corporal, Sergent... I dont want to play on a field with nothing but Sergents or what ever... I can understanding reducing HOURS for awards, but not POINTS. I mean, im not the best play and i only have coming up 20,000 points... I respect those on the server with higher rank than myself as they are obviously better more dedicated players and thus the rank is good.

Anyways, my gripe is... Why not just reduce the higher ranks and not the low end ranks, or leave it as is and if you really want that extra unlock.... Learn to Play better to get it. Im happy with my 2 unlocks the G3, and the G36 or what ever the spec ops unlock is. Yeh i will prolly unlock the sniper rifle next but after that there are no weapons i really want.

What is everyone elses thoughts on the reduction of points required for ranks? I thought they were to help show the dedicated/good players from the newbies and craphouse players.

make them alittle lower, max 125,000 or something. But the medals should be less.

Looks like it already too late, I've seen First Sergeant's at less than 30,000.

yeah i think this should be a good idea if it could be possible for great players to be better looking...on the other hand this would not be great if most people try to shi in your face cause you seem too good for them...anyway

that cant be right, theyre not gonna drop it from 150,000 to 30,000 unless theyve changed the scoring system dramatically, either a bug or an EA employee testing things

I dont think they should reduce any thing i think it would be better to inc rease the amount oif points you get for something

The reason i say this is im not a player who just goes out and tries to kill everything i try and wait in places where the enemy will come to take a flag so im more a defensive player so my stats aint that good any way thats my opinion.:laugh:

I don't have a problem with lowering the point thresholds, but they should put warrent officers and commissioned ranks in there as well, just so that people get promoted quicker, but you'll always know who the really good people are.
Realistic? of course not, but you're sitting in front of a computer, not in Iraq.

I cant wait for the patch ^^ I think with 100k i will get master Sergant and unlock finaly the g36c.

I am assuming that the stats and medals for BF2 will be carried along the Battlefield Franchise. Thats the only logical explanation for the medals and awards being so requirement heavy.

Are they better players? Dedicated, ok, but lets face it, they just have more playtime than normal people, thus more points. I wouldn't call them better.

I would like to see some more requirements for gaining ranks other than points.

I reckon the medals are fine. I think they believe that you shouldn't get every medal. You should only get the medals that coencide with your play style or choice.

You have to think about the players that aren't as dedicated (which is a significant majority...you still see ALOT of L. Corp's out there). They aren't unlocking any weapons, so they're going to quit extremely quickly.

I just think they should reduce the higher ranks alittle, mostly reduce the medal requirements.

Since getting to Staff Sergeant I have not played much, got the unlocks I want. :)
