The ranking system and the points do to a small degree at least encourage some online teamwork because everyone WANTS an unlock not always the rank but the unlocks, if we all had our unlocks and didnt care then there'd be TK'n left right and centre, no squad work and do you really think the medics would run into a battle to revive you? I doubt it... they want their rank/unlock. And they have to work to get it.

Are they better players? Dedicated, ok, but lets face it, they just have more playtime than normal people, thus more points. I wouldn't call them better.

I would like to see some more requirements for gaining ranks other than points.

no they arnt better players most of em just bunny hop around tossing ammo and stuff like that then u have some that have played 600hrs and actually are good at the game then u have Firebird*DS* lmao that guy spends his entire time in a jet in his server on gulf of oman then on karkand a commander in an APC and banns u if ya take his jet ROFL he shoots the jet someone is running to with his AT rocket that guy is just to funny to whatch always on the US but its funny to me

I agree.. the rank point system needs to be tweaked but not that big..

Im gonna be ****ed off after I played for 3 days straight to hurry up my
promotion to get my last unlock, only to find out they are just gonna
give it to everyone else... Well.. I guess it will depend on how close
it makes me to my next promotion..

who knows. its EA we're dealing with here.. knowing them, they will
demote all of us to Private and make some of us peel potatos.

They are gona make it toooooo low it sucks everyone is going to be around with unlocks, no more picking up the kit from the guy with the cool gun.

this bothers me somewhat because of the time i put in to get up to Sergeant...i didn't stat pad my way to this rank one bit, all infantry type combat...i barely started learning how to fly a heli, none of my points were earned easily...

I guess id just like to see alot of lower class players and only a few of the higher class, maybe even if the weapons unlock could be every 5,000 points or once you have 1,000 kills with the standard weapon of that particular class... maybe even if they based it on your medals.... complete basic medic and get the medic unlock, complete basic anti-tank get the anti-tank unlock. But just leave the ranks where they are.

Here's my thoughts, which I imagine will upset some here. And these are from a gamer with family and work responsibilities (read limited gaming time).

While I certainly like the ranking system and unlockables, I also feel cheated with the present system, knowing full well that in ranked servers I will never be able to unlock more than maybe my second unlockable.

Such high points, while they might be seen by the Developer to keep everyone playing hard for a very long time, I believe have resulted in a lot of cheating. Moreover, and this will be most unwelcomed but here it goes , the unrealistic high point system only promotes folks (i.e., teens) to spend all their free time playing this game. As a father I would say there are certainly a whole lot of others things to do then play this game 24/7. Get some fresh air.

Some mentioned they wouldn't want to be in a server with all high-ranking players. Why? The better players will still be the better players. With the exception of Commander elections, these ranks really mean nothing in terms of gameplay.

I have only logged about 130 hours into this game,however I cannot think of one time,ever that I have actually bothered to look at a players rank in game.It is something I don't notice,it has ZERO bearing on the game what so ever except when applying for commander.

The fact that a weapon also comes with each rank isn't an issue since anyone can play just as well if they are skilled with a default weapon.


Ranks exist to inflate peoples E-Penises and that is it,if you need a ranking system to stay amused by an FPS style game then they are not likely to be the right type of games for you,every other FPS game out there manages to remain popular for long periods of time without rewarding players for that time in any way.

they need to penalise school kids(read: too much time on their hands) since they have more time to rack up points than people who need to work/study/family.

Just wait guys, my guess is we see alot of First Sergaents and Sergeant Majors , but i think they added officers ranks up til General 4 start too. just a guess.

And about o all those hihg ranks now, just getting used to wich is the new high and low, Sergeant wont mean sit, First Sergeant will.

Ps would love to see al those gold ranks all over the map, will look really cool.

The new patch sounds like its goin to make a lot of 1st sargeants/master sargeants etc, how on earth will the commander be elected if we're all the same rank? who loads the map 1st and therefore gets to apply for commander 1st?

Yeah but im finding it is taking a long time to get to Corp, im only at 5,200 point's or something and i want to unlock the M25 and the G3, but once i get to Corp it will take to long to get to 25,000 point's.
