I seem to be a friendly artillery magnet, so to me this is good news. The last time I played the commander dropped artillery on the outpost I was capping THREE TIMES. Right before it would land I would kill the one or two guys the commander was trying to kill so it would be just me getting splatted by the shells.

still gonna happen. the commander will just not get punished for it.

if it was real ofcourse, which it isnt.

Its always the players fault for running into it. There's plenty of warning to run away.

I remember once the commander was using arty on the last enemy position on a 32 player map. Arty shows on the screen, you hear "artillery your area" but still people ran into it. Commander got so many tk's and was booted all because people didn't stop.

This is a definite plus for commander - about time too. Commander doesn't really get much for all his hard work (especially if hes a good commander)
Now finally there is a little bonus for him.

I'm assuming you still loose tickets for the deaths.

I think you're right. But the question is does the commander loose 4 points for killing a teammate still?

Also do these TK count when determining whether the commander can say on the server (ranked servers have 3 TK's and then you're booted)?

Definitely a good thing. Ppl have more than enuff time to get out of the direct blast zone as well as an icon that shows the blast radius, you can safely hang near or within the first ring or take cover.

EXACTLY! "commander scoring" not "kill actions" or anything like that. Its common sense that it means he will not get penalised for a teamkill YOU will still die from getting hit with artillery. Its ridiculous when the commander gets kicked for soldiers silly mistakes.

You have 15 seconds warning of friendly artillery, how you can get hit by it three times in a row is mind boggling, look at your map once in a while

Mini-map also scales automatically based on the vehicle type you are using (manual changes to zoom levels are remembered as well)

I'm loving that bit as well, its gets annoying to constantly have to change maps views from driving to capping a flag on foot, especially when your bombing around in jeeps with squadmates.

Because I was trying to capture a flag and was more worried about the enemies around me than the commander above me.

As was mentioned before, you have plenty of warning of an artillerty strike. If someone is trying to TK you in this way, and you still manage to be in the strike zone or run into it even after the ample warning, I wouldn't point my finger at the commander.
