Commander scoring - No more TKs from Artillery

I know as commander I try to be careful and all when dropping artillery, but this is silly.

Won't this lead to griefing?

I guess it'll be time to make more mutiny votes for sure. Just hate the servers that have disabled the mutiny vote button...arg...

that isnt that bad of a thing woop de do we can artty without killng a teamate i but u whine and cry when ur commander TK's u with artty if you ask me most of the time its the players fault for running into the artty same way with mines and clays u have warnings but some ppl are stupid

Yeah, but they didn't change the way mines and claymores work. If they did I would be happy for those, but dropping artillery on your own teammates???

I guess more mutiny votes will be successful now huh if the commander does it alot.

This has limited scope for griefing I think. I mean the worst you can do is chase people around with it, because they can see it comming well in advance. You could also det-pack your own artillery if the commander is really being a prick.

Its always the players fault for running into it. There's plenty of warning to run away.

I remember once the commander was using arty on the last enemy position on a 32 player map. Arty shows on the screen, you hear "artillery your area" but still people ran into it. Commander got so many tk's and was booted all because people didn't stop.

This is a definite plus for commander - about time too. Commander doesn't really get much for all his hard work (especially if hes a good commander)
Now finally there is a little bonus for him.

Not on FF off servers - your C4 does no damage to friendly assets.

i dont see anything wrong with using the artty its helpful if ya ask me but to cry about a commander doing what he is supposed to do thats stupid

I still think people don't forgive just coz they can...any accident is an accident...if you are stupid enough to drive across the top of a mine planted by your own guys, then too bad - you should loose points for being a loser...I have had too many times where I am now like 10 points down coz some tool does something stupid...or I am driving my tank across a street, so dude jumps up and runs across my path...I kill him, he hates me - takes points off me...then starts bad mouthing me...come on...(sorry for off topic rants)

And the arty thing is a good idea in some ways...i agree that it is usually those who run into it who suck the most.

I think some of you guys are misinterpreting the news: friendly players won't be immune from friendily artillery. Rather, the commander won't get charged with a TK when a friendly is killed by his artillery strike.

So now a team can run into an enemy base camp right as the artillery rains down, and then spawn camp and kill any enemy spawns with sheer force of numbers. Not sure i like that. I liked it that your commander could arty the heck out of an enemy base, but you had to wait for it to be over and then run in and actually work together to make it. Arty wasn't a guaranteed base win. Now it seems this will become much easier. Arty a base and it's almost a guaranteed win?

I seem to be a friendly artillery magnet, so to me this is good news. The last time I played the commander dropped artillery on the outpost I was capping THREE TIMES. Right before it would land I would kill the one or two guys the commander was trying to kill so it would be just me getting splatted by the shells.

i think it's a good thing. Do you know how many idiots see the Artillery symbol and think it's something they should attack?
