this is a non argument. The commander is the COMMANDER you are supposed to do as he says.
So when he calls in artillery you should move regardless of weather you think he should artillery in that area, if you die because your stupid enough to stay there then you deserve too die and the commander shouldn't be penalised, if anything you should be penalised for a) being stupid and b) disobeying orders.

Probably about 80% of the commanders out there don't know what they are doing. I've given orders to defend flags before when I see two infantry heading towards a flag, but what does the squad of 6 do, they goto the next flag and I have to think twice about artillerying my own flag becuase I know that squad of 6 will automatically respawn at the flag I'm about to artillery...
Plus I dont' want to follow orders from a 10-year-old high on chocolate milk yelling at me over VOIP...:evil:

its not a question of orders though when they call in arty you get a arty logo flashing on the map for a good time before the arty hits, theres no reason to get hit by it.

The TKing point should be adjusted, but not eliminated. We've been artied when large groups of us, including two ATVs and a tank were taking over a flag, all obviously VERY blue items on the commander's map....with no RED DOTS around us, nor were there any red dots around this stupid flag for quite awhile.
Why in the hell was this commander artying this flag?!!
The guys I was on VOIP with had (each) more stripes than an eight-year-old's underwear, so they weren't stupid....and they were PO'd.
("Universal Soldier" was one of their names.)
Since voting never works, something needs to be left in.

Have you never run into by accident?! I have....wasn't paying attention....deserved it....but did it. Didn't punish the guy of course.
Yet in several of these cases it was still the commanders fault!! The radar got blown so early in the round, yet he did nothing about it, that I haven't seen a red dot all round....so I stop looking at the map as much...it's mostly useless. And heeeeerrreeeesss ARTY!!

I remember once the commander was using arty on the last enemy position on a 32 player map. Arty shows on the screen, you hear "artillery your area" but still people ran into it. Commander got so many tk's and was booted all because people didn't stop.
This is a definite plus for commander - about time too. Commander doesn't really get much for all his hard work (especially if hes a good commander)
Now finally there is a little bonus for him.
I agree, I had to battle back from a -20 last night because of little jackasses running into the danger zone.
1.3 looks ok to me, but i wish they would put a few more maps in it.

This will only ever be a problem with the most retarded commanders. Then you can mutiny or get a commander with a higher rank to apply first.
Most commanders will not randomly start artying everywhere. Just wait and see before you start bitching. The patch isn't even out yet!

Right now, I think your right. However give it two months, and after ZERO consequinces time and time again, the commanders will start abitrarily artying in some more of the populated areas, with the attitude of...."Hey.....you saw the arty coming.....get out of the way.....your fault...."
Mark THOSE words. I got an idea.......
How about....people already in the area have the choice to punish, boneheads that run into it after the circles show up on the map don't have the choice.
Commander will still not deserve some puishing now and then, but it's closer....anyone??
