I've got only one problem with the grenade launchers, I use them often on distant enemies, groups, lightly armored vehicles and so on as well...but....
I hate it when I run into some guy who is just wandering god knows where in the map, we run into each other around the corner, he of course is running with his grenade launcher as primary, fires one off and misses, in the mean time I begin to shoot at him, I'm lighting him up, I guess, since my hit indicator is flashing to the max, but all this guy does is bunny hop all over the damn place reloading his grenade launcher, then kills me with it.
I use the 203/GL a lot for semi/long range shots or at groups of people..
I also use it aginst Heli's , tanks, and trucks/buggies.
I only use M203 at 50+ meters, cause if not, i'm just stooping to the noob's level. THe GLs are ok, but only when used not at anything less than like 50 meters, we need a arming range, in real life the arming range is about 100 meters, but obviously 100 meters is too far, so i thinkg 50 meters is good.
I recorded a movie the other night where a nade went right past my face, and then detonated about 7-8 m behind me. It killed me instantly, and I remember having full health to that point.
I have a low, and a higher quality version of the movie:
Tell me what you think :)
I love to play urban maps, so of course the weapon im killed with the most is the damn M203 or GL-30. That video just goes to show you how n00bish that weapon really is...however i do use it at 60+ meters or so when you know you can't hit anyone with a gun at 10+ meters...
You're in a T-90 and an LAV comes up on you, do you shoot it with you're main gun or do you use the MG?
You're a Medic and somone is bearing down on you, do you use the M16 or your pistol?
You're a sniper w/ an M95 and someone is standing steady @ 50 yards lined up for the perfect head-shot, do you use the M95 or do you run at him with a claymore in hand?
You're gunning on a chopper flying nice and steady with a tank 300 yards away lined up perfectly, do you use the guided 1 shot/ kill missile or do you start pugging away with the 20 MM?
Which hurts more....a 5.56MM NAto round or a 20MM Grenade?
For me, if your not using the most powerful weapon at hand then you're dumb. Call them nOObs only if you answered a previous question wrong because 'you really are that good.'

Ok, first off, you said 5.56 round or 20mm nade, it's a 40mm nade, anyways, i respect people that use GLs, but only when they use it at 50+meters, because pointblank shoot at their feet around the corner stuff doesn't seem so skillful to me.
i see nothing wrong with using it as long as your not using it in CQC, which i make a point not to do. i almost exclusivly play as USMC, so the burst is my go to gun in CQC.
i dont die often, (aprox 3.3 K/D ratio) so i reserve my m203 shots for long to medium range encounters when i would normaly use a grenade.
hear that, i use the GRENADE LAUNCHER as a GRENADE!!!! its a novel concept, but hell, it works!. anyone doubting that i can use the AR like its supposed to be used, my k/d with the AR is 3.1 and with the m203 is also around 3... i can use both and DO.

Knew I shoulda looked it up, it's been 20 years since I felt the need to memorize the minutia for modern weapons and I guess a 40MM grenade hurts twice as much as a 20MM.
Skillful is a broad question and another responded that this topic can never end and there are plenty of things to complain about in the game [most easily remedied by changing your tactics.]
My new topic could be "I hate it when a nOOb tank commander uses his main gun to klill me in a jeep....it's not very skillful, he should hop out and pull out his knife, that would be a test of skill."
As a complete reverse, we could get into the actual arming range for an M203 which is likely 30 feet [don't quote me but I'm sure it's pretty close to that.] Ask dice to create a minimum range for it and you have what you want for the sake of 'realism.' Any grenade hits short of 30 feet and it's basically a baseball.
In the end, a forum isn't likely gonna swing all the ones doing it so lets focus on BH whores instead.

 Im just picturing someone getting knocked down by a M203 *clonk*

Ok, i just went to a couple of friendly military sites to clear all the confusion about arming range, i'm wrong, i don't actually know the arming range, but it's minimum safe range in combat is 31 meters, inother words, to not be wounded by the blast you should be at least 31 meters away. Which would mean that point blank noobnaders would EASILY die when they do thier bunny hop shoot at enemies feet thing.
i am so sick of hearing people bitch about the noob cannon... any1 with enough experience should know there are plenty of ways to get round them (albeit using instinct) - also once u avoid that first shot they are all yours.... nothing better than knifing a reloading noob lol
besides i think i use the G3 more than the 203 - its probably the best anti203 weapon...
also in response to this minimum safe distance thats crap - u certainly can fire a 203 in real life under 31 meters (not too much though) and i know that for a fact. it depends on the trajectory and target surface. i know a website may of said this but thats probably a highly generalized number recommended by manufacturers specifications.
anyways quit your whingein noobs lol (here comes the flame )
