My only problem is the close range lameness. I can often hit targets more than 10 meters away, and hitting beyond that is more to do with skill\remembering previous shots than just who gets the first shot (which in most case, 2 noobnaders see each other, they both fire and die). Also have effects on medium helps alot.

They should make a minium range before it arms. Don't change the blast, don't change the reload, don't change the amount, don't add a time before your shoot etc, just make a minimum range of about 10 meters.

Yeah, perhaps it could bounce if it hasn't armed yet. That'd be neat. Maybe make like a one second fuse.

I forgot about that aspect of the M203. M203's actually have a bit of a "safety" if you will. They arm themselves after a set amount of time which equates to a set distance. SOCOM II, if you ever played the game, implemented this feature which eliminated close range shots.

A ten meter arming distance would even it out.

Bah the nade gun is part of the game. WHen i first played it I absolutely thought it was the biggest noob weapon in the game, until our squad got our asses handed to us by a squad full of naders, so we all switched over to compensate and went nade gun and practices, well for me its fun now and I rack up alot of kills and it helps my team when i go 70-15. Also it adds fun when i hear people cry over getting killed by it . I'll also say the same thing i say to them, its part of battlefield 2 , either learn to use it or learn to take it, dont like it? go play counterstrike .. or dont play city maps.. simple as that..

Hey why dont we all switch to the noob toob? That way in about a months time we can get rid of all those silly other guns and hop around with the nade launcher...what fun well have
Try competitive match play using your sad tactics...you and your noob squad will get hammered

                Re: Battlefield M203

lmao! M203 is such a nice weapon. And yes, its close range splash damage is too little.

But I always appreciate the one-shot-kill weapons in any game and the Grenade Launcher in BF2 is one of the finest implementations I've seen (-minus the short range part). I luv it, but hey I'm 34th on BFHQ in GL; was #22 once.

And yes it takes a lot of skill and practice to use the GL well. Skilled GL means you can 1) shoot around corners, 2) use ceiling shots to kill prone enemy, 3) nail rooftop objects to kill snipers, 4) Kill the small SF jeep with a shot to its rear, and 5) kill 4+ enemy at once.

Want some GL defense advice from someone that uses the GL as primary?

                1) Short range at your feet is nothing to get mad at. Use your ears! When you hear a GL go off, you know he's reloading. That's the time to charge him.

                2) The GL is almost always no good shooting uphill, so retreat to an uphill position as you are trying to get aim on the GL'er.

                3) The shortrange GL that kills the shooter costs the shooter more in points than it costs you. relax.

                4) Bunny Hopping is an effective defense, but when you do touch to ground...And you don't want to become known for bunny hopping.

                5) Nothing beats a prone G3. I can dance all day around a prone PKM.

And I don't hop. ever. I'm actually getting pretty good at killin bunny hoppers.

                  Re: Battlefield M203

Hell even in the good old Delta Force series, you couldn't just nade point blank with the noob tube. If you were too close, it would just make flupp, and the nade would dissapear in the ground.
Yes let's get rid of all other guns but the tube, and give a tank to every player. So we won't have to walk anymore.
No honestly, I love to hammer tubers in the face with my newly acquired DAO-12
He gets one shot at me, and he better pray that I'm too far away to get to him before he reloaded...
I learned how to charge since I use the DAO. It completely changes the way I play the game. Play defensive, but if some assaulter attacks me, I know the best tactics is attacking him first or get around him.
Seriously the noob tube is fine, except for that it can be used at point blank without getting yourself killed. I do not want to take away other peoples skills in this game.

I played a TWL match the other week (Sharqi Peninsula) and we won by a huge margin. I downloaded and watched the video after we were done, to see what the heck went so wrong for them. I decided to follow this one person around from the other team. He used his grenade launcher (GL) the entire time, and did not ONCE use another weapon. I think his final K : D was something around 1 : 15.

The entire experience just went to show, a GL is a supplement, not a main weapon.

Most people shoot he 203 first because its already out, whats the point of switching back to m16 while confronting someone just "to be fair"...if i have that thing out and i run into you, guess what...your gonna get shot with it...if i have the m16 out then i shoot the full clip and if your still alive switch to the toob....

Thats what the problem is, n00bs have it out all the time & never switch back to the M16 rifle.

I play assualt lots and get lots of kills from 203ing but mainly from 5-30 meters, I get more from 40m+ and the from >5m and I think putting in a arming distance is realistic, but as I said earlier the splash damage would have to be increased a bit, as the splash damage now is not realisist at all. On top of this there are glitches with the GL at longe ranges in that it doesnt always kill when it explodes on the enemies body.

its sad when a n00b tries to kill me when im prone witha pkm and misses compleately, i mean this n00b uses the 203 only to get points, an he cant hit a prone person with it. he jumps around while reloading, but is cut down before he can shoot again

If he's using his 203 to get points, what are you using your PKM for? God forbid someone would score points in this game! *sigh*
