Well, it's going well so far. I've received some great feedback and support. I was sad to see that got3n's site has taken too much traffic. Hopefully the stat pulling features will get neatened up in the future.
If you can get a stat tracker site to work, go the link in my signature, punch in your stats and find out where you stand(I'm just barely over 120, Lieutenant). The more feedback I get, the better I can make the formula. All kinds of info on the calculator are coming soon. Peace.

I doubt that I can write Javascript functions into it. Even if I could it would be one hell of a mess to try and do it. I would need partnership with any tracker site to make it work. Obviously it would be much easier to get the rating without having to manually input all the stats. I've had a few people talk to me about getting better webspace. I know got3n has his server down for a while, so I can't hook up with him for the time being. I suppose if this thing gains enough popularity and/or respect I can get a stat tracker site to incorporate it.

I dont consider the presence of any vehicle kills to be a deterioration of ones skill, but really it depends on just how many. Really I dont think its possible to write a formula that can calculate ones skill, good job however. Its apparent you worked hard on this.

I would like an implement in your formula that's based on the ability to use all kind of weapons. I see very good player as someone who can master everything in the game.
Probably that's kinda complex to calculate in but anyway I love your work.
(I can't complain , I have score of 190 :S

Most of the time was spent at work. My girlfriend is at a baby shower until tomorrow night so no one is here bugging me. I would say I've spent the most time on the hands-off work(theorizing, testing, listening to people's input, considering subtle changes). More time is going to go into the site now though. I'd like to be able to give a thorough breakdown of one's score to show strengths and weaknesses(according to the calculator anyway). It's nice to see that at least a few people are interested in it(last I saw there was almost 150 hits on the site). :)

And I have yet to receive a scathing email! I'm still waiting...something to the effect of: "wtf u a$$hole, ur site is so ***, i'm way better than ur crappy score says! i'm so mad that when my mom comes i'm gonna make her drive me to ur house so i can kill you" Something like that.

Yeah, I've thought about this, but I can't take away from someone's score because they predominiately use one kit or one weapon over others. I mean, in some cases having a more varied kit usage would imply a higher degree of skill, but not enough so IMO to include it as a criteria for skill.

Some people would say that knifing requires a lot of skill, or using a pistol, others would say that the grenade launcher or anti-tank weapons are easier weapons to use...so it's hard.

Since the skill calculator is designed to interpret your overall skill at the game in a number of uncertain situations, I'm hard pressed to use something like kit usage because you have direct control over what kit you play as. You can be placed in many scenarios in the game where the variables around you are beyond your control(the number of flags your team has, is your enemy pounding you with armor? with air power? is your team outnumbered? is everyone going to the wrong place?), but you do have control over what weapon will be in your hands when you're placed in those scenarios. I'm not sure if that makes any sense or not, but that's my best explanation for it.

No, not perfect. People will argue over it no matter what I do, so I'm just going to keep listening, playing, talking in efforts to determine just what BF2 skill is. I don't think the formula is too bad right now though. I would imagine that any changes I make to it in the future will be subtle.

I am having fun with it. It's given me something else to do with the game and with the BF2 community, and people have been really supportive and helpful(I expected much worse), so it's been fun, yeah.
