Well, the average at the moment may actually be lower than 100. Keep in mind that this formula needs some work but I'm trying to gather as much data as possible so that I can sit down and fine-tune it. I'm sure as you play more, you'll play better, and your stats will reflect that.

Re: Find out your BF2 Skill Rating!

OK, I'm only going to say this one more time.

I'll release the formula when I'm done with it.

I still need to change some of the multipliers to better project overall skill. Consider this an alpha or a beta or whatever. Got3n, that would be awesome if you could incorporate it into your site, just as long as you give me props(I'll give you my real name when I release it).

It's not a simple calculation. As it is now there are 12 criteria it uses to determine positive and negative scores, and I may add a few more to the mix only because I want this to be a "complete" skill rater. Each criteria is based on at least one statistic, but usually more like 4 or 5 at once combined with multipliers for balance and weight.

Ex: K/D ratio is weighted much more heavily than Team Score per minute, but K/D is certainly not a make or break score. You can have a quasi-weak K/D(.8 or less let's say) but due to high team score/combat score, low TK's, good flag caps/time, low urban map time/total time, low vehicle kills/kills, your score can still be quite good. The goal is to show an all-encompassing rating based on everything the BF2 world has to offer(to some extent, I'm not going to have so many criteria that the formula becomes ridiciulous, e.g. pistol/assault rifle kills, or hand grenade kills/min).

I've already had some good feedback on here and have some good data to work with when I play around with it some more. I have some very high scores, some high scores, an average score, and some lower ones. This is a nice assortment of data that should help me a lot when I fine-tune the weight multipliers. Thanks for your support all, hopefully I can get this on got3n and become a trend-setter. If not, it'll just be some good ol' fashioned fun.

Re: Find out your BF2 Skill Rating!

I'm not that interested in actually finding out my score, but feel free to use my stats for testing reasons.

                        I'm SaladFork, pid 41211061.

The reason it might be interesting, is because my k/d ratio is horrible (around .5, if not lower). That's because I spend more time helping the team, rather than kill the opfor. My combat score and my teamwork score are almost identical, which is highly unusual.

Also, for team kills/damage/vehicle, make sure to factor in the time a player has been playing. These things DO happen accidently, and the longer you've been playing, the greater chance you've accidently done something like them.

A lot of the criteria include time as a factor. TK/TD/VD are all based against total time played, not just a static number. Someone who's played for 50 hours with 100 TK's will take a much larger hit to his score than someone who's played for 200 hours with 100 TK's. Like I said before, the nice thing about this rater is that a bad K/D by itself won't kill your score. It is the most weighted stat, but not by much. If you have a high SPM based on extensive teamwork, that will be reflected.

I also plan on releasing a criteria by criteria list for people on my site. That way you can look at it and see where your weak areas are.
If you TK too much, you can see that and work on it.
If your K/D ratio is bad, maybe you can try using vehicles a little more(not obsessively), and playing kits like assault from time to time to build up more kills(Remember, deaths mean ticket loss for your team, kills mean ticket loss for your opponents, so this is why K/D is a crucial factor, BF2 is a team game).
