This is so absurd that i don't know what to say..

I just don't get the guys complaining about the high scores that are required to get new ranks :|: That's just the thing that makes it so rewarding when u finally get promoted. Besides youre talking like someone is making u play the game and demanding you to earn higher ranks. As if you were playing the game not for fun, but just because of your compulsive need to "finish the game".

If it was easier to get the ranks and unlocks, you'd be complaining about everyone being the highest rank soon and everyone having all the unlocks in no time.

"the unlocks are stadard issue in other games" ?? so ...? If u change from ice-hockey to football, you'll have to let go of your stick Different game, different rules and they're the same rules for everyone.

Personally i like the fact that you have to play alot to earn things.. It's very dull to earn 25000 just by chopper/tank/medic/etc.. whoring and stat padding. So eventually i hope this guarantees that the players with the highest ranks are the ones that love the game and are dedicated to playing it right.

Please... It should be HARDER to gain ranks. I can get 2,000 points a day w/o trying all that hard... If 10,000 points is too much for you to get to the next rank then stop playing noob.

To get 2000 points a day you'd have to have no life whatsoever.

i cant imagine how much time i've spent playing doom, hl1+2, duke nukem 3d, blood, wolfenstein, every freaking game -- THERE WERE NO TRACKING SYSTEMS THEN -- but now people who suck see they spent 300 hours online and only have 3 unlocks are pissed... too bad -- i am just enjoying the game

Personally I just enjoy playing the game as its great fun even if I do swear when I get killed through my lack of skill or stupidity. Doing things like "I wonder if the tank has gone?" boom "oh i guess not", and various expletives then follow. With regards to badges,ribbons and new ranks I will get there when I get there. I would rather enjoy the gaming experience than worry about when I will hit the next rank.

Im a 25 y/o working father with a 4 month old baby, I get maybe 2 hours a day on the days I can play, sometimes on the weekends I can get 4 total. It will take me forever to get alot of those awards and unlocks, but that is fine. I played DoD for years and got nothing, id imagine im gonna do the same with BF2. IMO

TeamGreen, you have taken the words right outta my mouth! We are almost the exact same demographic, 25 yr male, with new child. I feel the same way. I love playing the game, even with the unattainable goals. It only bothers me that I may make a poor choice with my unlocks and not get a chance to unlock the others (I would prefer to not have 5 accounts... that is silly)...

Oh, and congrats on the new one (not quite so new after 4 months of not sleeping, I guess, lol)!

No i don't think about the hours requirements. That's the trick. If u spend your days memorizing UBAR, and your nights chasing badges, it'll feel like you'll never get them.. but if you just play for fun.. in couple of months you'll have earned a few new decorations.

And once again.. nothing bad happens even if u never earn those badges/medals/ribbons. It's ok to play just for fun too.

listen, i just think that this game should have MORE. i really enjoyed getting my first rank to get my gun. it was fun. i would go on play, have a great time, get off 5 hours latter, and i would have 1/5-1/4 of my rank completed.
and be very saticfied with my progress.
then i got my gun, and then was dropped with a 10,000 point bad of **** on my head, that was gona take me 10 times longer then wat i just di to get 1,000. this was gona take about 4 to 6 weaks!!
ok i dont have that much freakin time to get just 1 little unlock.
i would get on, and 4 or 5 hours later, my rank had a little bitty sliver of progression almost the same as when i got on. it dawned on me that this was a big leap from 1,000, and my rank wasnt gona move soo fast. and that wat they need to fix. they should have bumped it to 5,000 instead of 10,000.

they could have added more weopons like pistals g nades and some of the stuff i said before. but NOOO, THEY ONLY WONTED 6 GOOD FOR NOTHING WEOPONS THAT ARE STUPID AND RETARDED.
