dont get me wrong i love this map, but around pretty much eveyrcorner theres a guy with an m203 just waiting for you, but if you have the g3 just look down a nice hallway and you just rack up the kills

when an assualt with M203 starts hopping, it's all over.....

solution: m203 shouldn't be able to used while hopping.

Ah, good to know there are more who know a thing or two about tactics :)
This is the most vital point - You can't get there from the rear (North and west is the end of the map), and since there are no assets there people tend to neglect it.
I think that most of the time, the team that holds this point for most of the round wins.

I usually see some good struggles in the NW section, ending up both ways (MEC comeback, or US holding to the bridge and simultaneously sweeping from the south). It's an intense map, good for mass infantry carnage. I always play on full 64-person servers. And when you're no longer in the mood, move elsewhere.

              hmmm...

I love this map, and im not a noob. I like it cos
              1) i own on it, and
              2) theres no choppers to own the map. Its just ground based combat.

I disagree its just simple straightforward figthing, ou still need tactics on any map, the big diffs on this map are:
              1) Its a lot harder to use the few non-apc ground vechicles cos of the buildings blow LOS and make it easy for you to get C4'ed or mined. In my opinion, this is good, cos it cuts down on the number of peeps getting "easy kills" from tanks and such.
              2) theres no choppers to own the map!!!!. I hate the way-over powered choppers in this game. Any vechicle that, with a good pilot can own the map is a bad thing.

I dont do that bunny-hoping rubbish and i dont sit there on a bag of grenades eaither. I use my machine gun and mow people down. Im bog standerd and i get bags of kills. If theres lots of noobs on the map, good, easy kills for me :)

On 16,20,32 player maps I don't see a lot of the noob cannon but on 64 player maps damn! it sucks. I never use the dumb noob cannon i just wait for the USMC to come so i could cut them in half with my light machine gun.

                  I like it.

You don't know what it's really like till you play it in a match. In pub play, you just don't see defense.

In a match, that map is pure skill. You need your team clicking on all cylinders to win that map.

First I believe the company you are referring to is called COSTCO, and secondly their privatle label brand is Kirkland not Karkland. Nice try though. :)

Sure, people hate people that run around using m203s and gp30s, but please acknowledge that it does take a degree of skill to use them effectively! it takes a certain degree of skill to use any weapon efffectively ingame, as has been established in who knows how many threads. There is no need in my opinion to call it a noobtoob or anything else, its in the game, and its in RL. Complain when a hax comes out for a laserbeam that goes through friendlies without killing them, through buildings and hits 7 enemies hanging out at the airfield. Dont complain about weapons which do have every right to be there.
Its a exploit and its cheating, i would never use the 'noobtoob' in such a way its lame.

Oh and I do think Karkand is one of the harder maps, due to the fact that it is all ground combat and each sector is unique in that there is opportunity for both close quarters combat and long range combat. I generally try to avoid the area south of the first MEC flag at the hotel, for that area is death reigned down by artilery, grenades, and anything with splash damage. It's too bad there aren't more players willing to escort a tank through the streets and protect the sides and flank. Most of the time the tanks or apcs have to go it alone and become easy targets for anti tank and spec ops.

I agree that Karkland is the best map for me...for one simple reason:-

                              There is no airpower!!!

I've said it before...Without the M203 the assult class is basically the medic class w/out grenades, a cute bag, and little paddles. So of course it's going to be used a lot.
