Re: Guide to the Commander Mode (Basic)
Actually Bird Killer it wasn't an error. To talk to an individual squad, two squads (but not all squads), the CO should highlight the squads they want to talk to by clicking on them and then press the "B" key to communicate. Using the "B" key allows for voice comm *only* to the highlighted squads. Using the "V" key by default sends the CO's comm to *all* squads. -
Re: Guide to the Commander Mode (Basic)
I have read it. Thanks. I assumed that they did as because it was apparently a lot easier for commanders to get the 40 command points prior to the 1.03 patch (I think this was the one). No offense Bird Killer, you've done an outstanding job on the FAQ, but I'd like to see something more concrete like the code for making the calculation for CO points or an official statement from EA/DICE stating what is coded in the game. :)Originally posted by Bird KillerArtillery kills and points never affected or contributed toward the commander score, never ever, not even in the demo. I don't know if this is done by squad leader or by commander but how do I order a squad to attack or defend a position before a round has started? many times as squad member ihave been ordered to attack or defend a certain position, is this from the commander giving the to my squad leader and him accepting or is it just the squad leaders doing?Leave a comment:

Re: Guide to the Commander Mode (Basic)
When EA took away points for arty it made it more difficult to get the 40 command points required for the badge. I've played commander about 40 hours and still don't have it, though I play 95% of the time on a 40 person max server. The key is to command on a 64 player server and hope it's a fairly close round with some good back and forth action. Just keep resupplying, running the UAV and spotting enemy target with your satellite scan. Where appropriate, give orders to attack or defend CPs. You might get points as well for ordering mines to be placed and/or bridges to be destroyed.Leave a comment:

Does anyone have any tips on how to get points going faster? I wanna get the badge for commander but I can't ever seem to get over 25 points and I need 40!
Any information is greatly appreciated!Leave a comment:

Re: Guide to the Commander Mode (Basic)
Just hold the Ctrl key and highlight all squads by clicking on each one in succession. With all squads highlighted, right click and select "UAV available" or "Supplies Available".Leave a comment:

Thank you everyone for the great Commander Guide, special kudos to Bird Killer for starting the Thread. I read every tip and hint in the post and when i got home, i obtained my Basic Commander Badge and my Staff Officer Ribbon in one round on a Strike at Karkand map with 40/64.Leave a comment:

I didn't read the whole thread to see if this was mentioned but as commander you should probably just camp in main base as an engineer. That way, when your assets are blown up you can just jump out and fix them. Also being far from the acction allows you to command effectively.Leave a comment:

Re: Guide to the Commander Mode (Basic)
Personally, I would rather let the commander drop artillery onto the lone enemy than a supply drop because the drop is not garunteed to drop directly onto the enemy. If you ever noticed, supply drops veer off course by a few meters meaning it will most likely miss its intended target.Leave a comment:

Bah...dropped a supply crate to refill my C4...called up the command map to scope the area and do CDR functions...next thing I know it says Sub_Saint is no more...and there is a crate on top of my body...
