I also know it's legal, and i'm not complaining. I was asked for my opinion and i have given it, if you dont like it, you know what you can do.

Well, of course, what am I going to do? Try and have their stats wiped? If I find a server with chronic roofing (usually on =DiG= winter server), I'll try to find another one. But Lord knows, it's hard enough to find a decent server without having to taking excessive roofing and pod-surfing into consideration.Comment

Baseraping isnt even in the same league as Rooftop camping. Rooftop camping is an exploit.
Also, do you think that Rooftop exploiting is limited to servers that allow it? It's everywhere you go.Comment

Yes it is, otherwise people wouldn't be able to get on the roof in the first place. All Dice have done is make roof access difficult by normal means on certain levels. As Fish pointed out; you can get on the roof a number of easy ways such as with Titan pods and the helos, what you're arguing about is certain roofs on certain levels. If they really wanted to stop people getting on the rooves in those places they could easily enable instant death on roof contact.Comment

I dont think people getting onto rooftops where they dont have the means to even crossed their minds. That, and it's a lot of extra work to edit every rooftop on every map. You forget that developers are on tight budgets and tight deadlines, especially on PC format. It's expected that a game for the PC will have a certain amount of bugs, but we expect them to be ironed out with the release of patches.Comment

Well I'm definitely not one for roof camping myself, but I am not extremely opposed to it in general, because the one on the roof is at a definite disadvantage by their silhouette being much more visible from a glance than those of the camper's targets on the ground (same goes for all rooftop sniping spots). If you want to fire a couple of rockets/snipe and make it glaringly obvious of your position, who am I to stop you? The placing of beacons on top of the actual roof rather than steering the pods though I am more opposed to as it can provide a spawn point for a squad to harass the other team until the commander somewhat wastes an arty strike that could have been used on the true enemies on the ground. The same goes for medic/support spammers as far as I'm concerned. Anyways, gripes aside, it is not nearly as bad as most other exploits or cheats and it will be pretty rare if existent at all when the new patch comes out.Comment

If DICE intended for people to snipe from rooftops they would have at least placed ladders on some of the buildings.
I wish that you could get inside some of the buildings like you could in BF2, a grapple hook and zip line would also be welcome.Comment

And the person that resorts to exploits/base raping etc, does have a selfish, petty mentality.

If you suck so badly that you have to pod your way up onto the roof of an otherwise unreachable rooftop, then you suck and are a bad player.
Rooftop campers need to L2P (learn to play)
