I wouldn't worry about it mate. I used to be anal about my KDR but now I realise that I'm the only person who cares. The other 2,345,712 BF players really don't care about your stats. So with that in mind, enjoy the game and play to WIN! Once you start playing to win the game takes on a new dimension, well it does for me.

Maybe he doesn't worry? He has fun getting a high kill to death ratio. It is like people who want to just sit in Titan guns all day. It is their choice to play, and if they find it fun so be it.

If you don't want to change the way you play too much, ie not having to start vehicle whoring or sitting on the titan guns, then take a more defensive role instead of attacking.
I've recently started just picking a control point and waiting for the enemy to come to me, they usually turn up in a vehicle and the pilum makes short work of them, either that or the motion mines hidden near each main entrance takes them out.
Sometimes the same enemy player keeps coming back and tries to take you out, which is always a good fun batttle.
Also use headphones instead of speakers, it will give you a better idea which direction your enemy is coming from instead of having no idea they are coming at all. I guess this depends on what speaker set up you have tho.

Hmm it's hard to say really, i mean yea there's a few obvious answers to put down, like whoring armour etc, using the voss etc etc.

But to be brutally honest be good at the game, some people are just better than others (it's the same for absolutely everything, some people are naturals other aren't) i always have been great at games, no matter what game it is i can sit down and beat people (on my first go) especially FPS' games.

People who say play for fun tend to be people with the worse stats :p but to me and a lot of other people, having nice stats is fun, i like to see my stats getting better, makes me happy

TBH a good way is to just sit back alot, yes you wont get a lot of kills but you wont die much, if your coming to an enemy flag, let someone else go in first, they will more likely die then you get the advantage of being able to see where he was shot from. But if your like me you will find sitting back boring, it's a lot more fun rushing a flag by yourself and wiping out 5 enemies then capping the flag lol

Errr... I have a fun story :p

I used to live by the "Play for fun, don't worry about it!" slogan, but two months ago I came to a shocking realization: my K/D R was at 8.7. I knew that I was a much better player than that, so I reflected. How did my K/DR get so bad? There were a few contributing factors.
1: This is my first FPS aside from SW Battlefront 1&2
2: Because of #1, I REALLY sucked during the first few months.
3: Because of #1 & #2, I attacked the titan. Alot.
Anyway, I then began the slow and Painful journey to a better K/DR. At the time I had around 1500 More deaths than kills (OMG!)...

Anyway, I then decided to care as much as I possible could about my K/DR. Every round I played, I would pay close attention to how I was doing. I wouldn't go Ramboing in towards the enemy, I would crouch when turning corners, I would improve my aim... Pretty much, I focused as hard as I possible could at becoming a MUCH better player. It wasn't fast, easy, or FUN getting it back up, but after about a month and a half of trying, I am at a 1.2 K/D R. Its not awesome, but it is better :p It goes up a little every day, as I strive to become the best player I can become.

But anyways i have noticed that i die alot more when i try to knife someone, or play in titan(defending/attacking). If you want lot of kills but less deaths, play as a sniper. That is a way to get like 15+ kills in a round and only 10 or less deaths. But the death count depends how you play with sniper and who is gunner in APC(fall of berlin).

I enjoy the challenge of maintaining a good KDR, mine is currently 2.13.

I frequent my clan's server where I have a ping of 140-150 so I lose face to face gunfights with people more frequently than I would with a good ping, so with that in mind i always flank the enemy. That is the best advice I can give you, be unexpected.

i second the advice not to worry about the stupid K/D. some people play to win instead of raising K/D. for example, if you go engineer and play the whole round fighting vehicles and shooting down titan guns, you're gonna have a sorry K/D like under 1.0, but you have done your part to help your team. so don't worry about the K/D.

ps: Balla is true, don't knife if you want good stats, if you knife like i do sometimes, your stats will be crap like mine and don't use 2142-stats that doesnt update proper, use BFHQ always fun to kep tags on where your ranked in the world etc

the problem i have had.. is that BF2142 was the first pc game i have EVER had like this.. so i started off quite a big noob.. no.. im .. ok lol

but at the beginning it just ruined by stats.. and now my k/d is still only 0.8

even tho i get on avarage around 20-30 kills and only 10ish deaths at max...

on good rounds i have had 50+ and only 10 deaths.. but yet my k/d still sucks.. seems like it is gonna take a looooong time for it to get better.. doesnt help that i have those random rounds where i just cant b bothered, and commit suicide by jumping around in front of walkers etc for fun xD
