    CS on a Mac?

CS-Nation community member NoKY passes along word of a new way to play Counter-Strike on a Mac. How, you ask? A program called CrossOver Mac is the ace up his sleeve. The program makes the claim that it allows for a number of Windows based programs to run perfectly, or almost perfectly, on your Mac system.

You can see the list of supported Steam games right here. I can't verify this myself, but NoKY passed along a screenshot of Steam running on his system.

Well this is a nice feature, I use an intel based imac myself and this program would rule if it was free. However I find using Boot Camp to be the best way still, while I may have had to pay for a copy of Windows XP I still can play all my PC based games through Windows. Until another avenue of playing PC games on the Mac, that doesn't involve purchasing a program that only works with a few games, comes out I'll stick with the fool proof Boot Camp.

Still this program is probably good for anyone who only plays CS or CS:S and doesn't want Windows on there Mac's at all or is using the PowerPC G5 ones, unless this only works with Intel based?

I find it amusing that people buy macs and still play windows based games.

"I didn't know how to get it to work!"

Amazing how so many people are unwilling to take the time to figure out HOW to get something to work, not sidestep it and buy an Apple.

rofl, now we'll have to deal with PC vs Mac in steam.

Mac: Duuude, you PC guys are puuurrrree hackers. There's no way you could be this good, duuude, listen, I've bound my keys to play .wav files I've composed on my Mac ingame! Gnarly! and I reskinned my characters to look like steve jobs (i made the skin on my Mac), that's why I'm not shooting you guys, it would be like shooting steve! radical

Yep I use this on my Macbook Pro. Crossover is a neat little app. I'll see if I can take some pictures and maybe a small video of it running.

Sorry to blow everyone's nuts off and probably out of the water but...

Linux is the best and can play all your games needs and all your applications :). HAHA.

By the way... Crossover was made for Linux then ported to work with Mac. If you buy a mac and run windows on it your just spending more money on a lower powered machine when you could have gone the other way -> Windows PC to a Mac OS.

Lets face it, mac vs. pc vs. linux will never be an ending battle and now that it has been brought to the gaming world its going to just start getting 10x (x = times) worst. Macs use to have games until the companys either 1) died 2) gave up in making games for macs or 3) Were bought for Windows use.

I do not had macs nor do I like them, I do not like windows nor do I like them... That is why my choice of gaming and application dev. is towards Linux for me.

And this quote is funny stuff I love that site, I send the link to all my mac friends.

simple, linux (can run win games, but not at great fps rates) is for power users, macs are for retarded douche bags, and windows is for gaming.
