    Raidyr's Patented Chart of Skill:

    .5 KDR = Bad

    1.0 KDR = Decent/mediocre

    1.5 KDR = Good

    2.0 KDR = Very Good

Not bad Raid. Here is my assessment:

      > .9 or less = Horrible

      1.0 - 1.5 = Average / mediocre

      1.6 - 1.9 = Above average

      2.0 - 2.5 = Good

      2.6 - 2.9 = Very good

      3.0 + = Excellent

I would gauge this by conquest ratings AS INFANTRY ONLY [no vehicle]. Titan has too many variables such as titan guns, etc. that allow you to inflate your KD/R. So make your calculations based upon the end of the round. If you are honest with yourself, you will know where you stand.

you guys are sad, saying whore armor, hide like a chicken, snipe where nobody can see you, i get a k/d ratio of 3 on most rounds and thats on titan where i simply run around and blow enemies away, whether it be with my clark or my malkov i still manage a good kd, unless you suck and die constantly it shouldnt be that hard, i run into situations where there are enemies all around me firing and i know im about to die but ill risk it every time , yet my kd is still good, just relax and learn to play better

This isnt about getting a good KDR, this is about getting a bad one up quick. Doing **** like that brings it up faster. Read the whole thread before talking **** next time

              guys dont flame....

kd of 3.2 and rising... yeah....

anyway, maybe we should compare our GoldSilverBronze quote. u can check it on 2142 stats. mine says 32.06%, ie 32% of the rounds i got to the top 3! maybe thats a better outlook huh.
anyone got more than 50%? 70% even?

Like it has already been said here: before judging someones playing by their K/D, better check how they got all their kills too.

I'd say one of the most important things when aiming to a high K/D is patience and remembering that you are playing against real ppl and not some AI dummies.

So this might sound like an old cliché (is that a word :P ) but at least i play best when i'm sort of thinking "what would i do now if my life was really on the line here". That usually keeps me from trying all the rambo stuff that help me get a flag fast in 1/10 cases, but just result in a quick death in the other 9 cases.

I'm in the same boat as a few others. This is my first First Person Shooter game, as-well as my first on-line game. My K/D ratio in the begining really showed it too. If I remember correctly, I was down to .75 and thats after I spent quite a bit of time playing. Now, It's .93, every little tenth of a tick higher it goes - is far more meaningfull to me, considering how deep I dug my hole.

I started paying attention to how I was playing, where I was dying and by what, and my overall game. I started fallowing better players (on my team) around to see what they were doing differntly. And sometimes just sitting back and watching other players move and shoot. It really improved my ability to stay alive and get a few more kills in.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but going in as a Comander, and actualy camanding, can help increase your K/D ratio with a few well placed orbital strikes. Also being able to see, from a birds eye view, how the match unfolds. Where people are and were they tend to go, where they cluster togather and where they tend to hide. All of which will help you when your not comanding and actualy on the battlefield fighting.

Most importantly, have Fun ! (and don't drink too much while your playing)

actually, i think looking at the accuracy is a gd indicator too. not the overall accuracy. but the accuracy of individual guns. i've seen snipers with thousands of kills but with an accuracy of less than 20%, shooting blanks i see. and other snipers with as many kills but with a much higher accuracy.

Yep my K/D is sucky as well. BF2142 was my first FPS game ever, I had played a little BFV a year before I got BF2142, although I never had the game myself.

My K/D was down at a really really crappy 0.20/1 until I started to understand the game in a better way and I never ever play a round with less kills than deaths anymore. It's currently at 0.86/1 and it's rising pretty fast so I'm happy of it. :)

There are noobs that never really learns the game and reaches Brig. Gen. with a K/D with less than 0.50/1 though.

I found from my meagre experience that if you play on certain servers you'll get better scores either because rubbish people play on them or you play as a team.

Alot of 'high KDR' players often, and I mean OFTEN swap teams upon entering a round to the winning team. If you're on the winning team with more competent players then your KDR will be good.

Not all high KDRers are as awe inspring as they seem, they DO have their cheeky methods for insanely high KDR's.

I went a step futher and just recalculated my 'hand weapon' k/d (hand-held guns and knife only... no tanks, no pilum, no RDX, no frag, etc...) and it's 1.25 as opposed to the combined k/d which is 1.92. It's still not a perfect measure but it's a much better indicator of 'infantry' skills than the global k/d.

I don't think this is always true. Yesterday I was on a server and my team sucked bad! Still managed a really go KDR with my Clark though!

I think being on a good team does help, but it's a lot more down to knowing the enemy and knowing your weapon.
