The Pod Surfing change is something we've been debating for a long time. The Pods from the spawn beacon were originally intended to be immobile; spawning on the beacon meant falling straight down. Creative players found ways around this, through means of which most forums readers are aware.

We made an early fix in a patch to prevent free flying pods, of all varieties, but some control of the drop pods from beacons was left. As pod surfing becomes more common it's effect on 2142 is being felt. We feel that pod surfing negative impact on gameplay for all players and removing it will improve the combat experience for all players.

Me too actually, and it's my favorite kit as well. One night I came across a squad with two or three clark users, one of which was pretty much matching me kill for kill. That made for a really great, competative round. I can't recall his name.. Something like ninjafish or fishninja maybe? Anyone know who I'm talking about?

Same thing with the Clark shotgun....the distance and the about of health damage should be reduced based on the distance. Not allow the Clark Shotgun take out someone at the distance of say the width of the rear Titan landing pad. As for the Voss, i do not know compare to the Baur or the Carbine. All three seem the same to me. It would be nice if they improve the missiles on the walkers. And fix the sliding bug with the walkers.
Im sorry but the Clark RDX was completely useless before this and was only used for trying to flush out people behind objects. Now it has some reason of being in a persons kit. That person though has to now sacrifice other useful tools the support class has like the the sentrygun or IDS-1 or there only defense against vehiles the EMP nades.

Also your telling me the defuser takes skill o.O. Honestly pointing and clicking for a sec aint hard if arent in heavy fire in whch you are you should have your gun out.

Good to hear that this is finally gonna be fixed. But about that free flying pods. I tought that you can't do that anymore, and i was amazed when i saw this happen again few nights ago. One dude was flying up and down and all across the map with spawn pods. I had video about it, but i managed to delete it.

Is there gonna be any other major fixes? I know few things in Fall Of Berlin map what would need some fixing or tweaking.

The Voss is now only usable for close range, and the Scar is no longer the weakest Assault Rifle. SCAR is perfect for medium/long range. Krylov is a little bit between the SCAR and Voss. Baur is mid/long range.
Is the Voss being nerfed in 1.40? I don't recall seeing that in the patch notes?

So now it will take the same amount of skill to remove explosives as it takes to deploy them?
                That sounds fine to me.

The defuser is just a ceremonial suicide tool, no sane Engineer uses it on APM/RDX.

I am a heavy clark user. IT rocks, Tonight i had my best clark round, with a total of 35 kills with it (48 person server, ful) It was great, i was blasting away at everyone and connecting, i was "In the Zone" I finished the round with a gold star and about 70 total points, beating silver star by about 20 points Right now i am ranked 159 with it

Anyway, i use to love how the Assault riffles were before 1.05. The difference between voss and baur could easily be felt, Voss noticibly weaker and baur felt like a beast with a huge kick. But they messed all that up....

Yeah, I use the clark too. I'm just saying that seeing another clarker in the same server as you is occasional.

I'd rather they'd fix the bugs. Like the fact we seem to slide around the battlefield, and the slightest raised terrain seems to be like a wall. Camp G is full of them.

Personally, I quite like pod-surfing, it's one of the few things left in the game that keeps me playing.

Good job Crysis is just around the corner...

                        hehe... excellent!

recon will hate the change because it will take away some of their free kills... so there will be some fuss over the change. Widkidone is mainly a recon... so of course he's going to object

please don't tell me there is a skillful way of placing an apm.... or setting some c7 and wait to click a button.

if an engi tried to diffuse c7, most likely he'd get detonated on.

No more Pod Surfing  Oh well, live and learn. This will simply make Camp Gibraltar even dumber than it already is...

Q? will there still be a small amount of movement on the pods?
EG like 5 meters (for the ability to get rid of roof campers.)
