I used to use wrap-around ear bud headphones. Then I realized I couldn't use them for any extended length of time due to how much they started to actually hurt my ears.

Yep, I was almost cringing while reading this review. I'd buy them if my ears weren't so sensitive to those sealed-in type headphones. Ouch. ):

my plantronics broke 3 weeks ago so i picked up the audio fx's today. they are good but your head gets really hot wearing them and the vibration gets annoying so i turned it off.

i own it to, long before i saw it on csnation. at first it seemd really sweet, but then i started hearing static in the backround (wich gets louder if i turn on vibration) when i was just sitting on the desktop. personnaly when im scrimming cs and i need to hear ppls footsteps i dont think the vibration feature helps that much either... if anything it hurts you because the vibration drums out the footsteps...im planning on getting steelsound 5h i think...

also, csnation should compare the razer diamondback and the razer copperhead and tell us wich is better

Hm, that's weird. I never really encountered any static sounds just idling on my desktop. I know that I'd sometimes hear it through my old ear bud headphones, but didn't encounter them on this. Maybe just through normal wear and tear?

Well, if you don't mind sending those mice our way, we'd be happy to

I like these, but they're pretty rough on my ears. After using the Plantronics Audio .90s, which are probably the lightest and most comfortable gaming headsets around, wearing these AudioFX's is pretty uncomfortable.

The flashing lights are.. well, worthless, and I can imagine that I look like a total moron with this huge flashing lights on my head while listening to music. I really don't understand what the point of the lights are, it's not like you can see them while wearing the headset.

The volume and vibration controller is way too high on the wire, especially considering how long the wire is. I'd expect to be able to just reach down and quickly change the volume, but the positioning of the controller is such that it dangles, so you're pretty much forced to fumble with it at an akward position. Also, if I leave the vibration on for about an hour or so, there is a definite burning smell coming from the controller.. seriously. Try it out and you'll see what I mean.

I had some trouble getting the microphone to work without tons of static feedback. I messed with every audio setting I could think of, and nothing helped. But it just randomly decided to start working properly while I was on ventrilo. I figured there would have been a small booklet to refer to for problems, but there was absolutely nothing of the sort.

If you want a decent pair of gaming headphones with a mic that aren't too expensive, these are fair. If you don't need the mic, I wouldn't throw away the $50. There's much better headphones on the market for the same price, that are much more comfortable and don't put flashing terror-alert charts on your head.
