I killed a man using a smoke grenade. Do not underestimate the power of a tin can being smashed on your head.
When I first saw the smoke grenade's smoke, I thought someone had farted! They call that smoke?! If I light a cigarette there'll be more smoke -.- The future brings us titans, floating tanks, all destroying lantern poles of doom, WMD's like the Voss, and these smoke nades? Ok. Guess they didn't fund the smoke research programme enough in the future.

Have you tried to deactive APM or RDX in a contested zone, not to mention in a titan under attack? It's not feasible, much better just to have a suicide bunny active it and revive (takes even less skill / team work). Using the Clark RDX will make it possible to deactive it without going on a suicide mission as an engineer (and free up the slot for something more useful). The engineer tool is almost useless imho.

What if they gave the engineer a short range laser-defuser to defuse the explosives from a certain range? I'm not talking about huge pew pew pew lasers but just a simple, small red beam that can detonate/defuse anything within 20m.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing any combination of it having more dense smoke, greater area, or longer lasting.

I am very much looking forward to the increased ROF on the Clark. That thing is a beast already! :yay:

Personally i dont get the fuss about pod surfing. Getting on high buildings is only really an advantage if your a sniper. And to me thats what being a sniper is all about. Hiding and killing, not running around in close combat as you have no chance.

Snipers should be there to support their team, watching and taking out enemy infantry before they can get to a flag. This is best done from vantage points, The higher the better so i hope you can still move the pod a little. I place mine next to a builing so you dont have to move it much to get on top.

Wizzing across the whole map is a little unfair but a few meters seems ok to me.

When i find team who uses VoIp and plays as a team. I usually find myself from some highground covering them with my Zeller, and spotting enemies when they cap the flag.

So at the end, i don't have anything against getting to the roof(you can get there without surfing). But i have something against "pod wiggling/surfing" . I don't like ppl podding all across map just to slip past the defense line. When you start the round, i don't want that enemies cap the back base in the first 2-3 minutes of the round. It just ruins all the fun... And "wizzing" across the whole map is really unfair... :salute:

A few well placed Demo packs is a sure fire way to the roof ;-) I actually got on the church roof on Cebre Landing (did i spell that right?) last night just to see if it was possible. Its not that good a vantage as once they work out where you are you have no cover, but it was a nice view up there.

Pods wizzing from one end to the other is not really in the spirit of the game but i have no trouble with people on roofs. Its up to me to take them out if i find one.

A few well placed demo packs is a sure way to get killed if you are playing on friendly fire off servers

Maybe Dice will left a bit of mobility in the pods though, to keep the possibility of using the roofs, if a squad leader manages to put a beacon nearby.

Well if your beacon has been compromised, then stop spawning in on it. When there are no people spawning on it, they will either destroy it or abandon it. Either way, the enemies that were camping it will be distracted while you and your squad can move on to other things.

And here is the solution. Well put, Wolf. If there are a few enemies camping your beacon, then these are enemies that are not contributing to the war effort on the front lines. Make them pay for that tactical error - instruct your squad to spawn at Control Point X, then take them into the heart of the enemy and start breaking things while multiple enemy units camp at your beacon and admire the sunset.

In addition, if the enemy is foolish enough to leave the beacon intact instead of destroying it, they end up being punished for their greed by your ability to use the beacon again later once the heat has died down.

I was mainly talking about the well known sceanrio: Camp Gibraltar: PAC get raped at their main, so they won't ever advance. Two guys watching our pod, and raping anyone who comes down. Those are cases where pod movement should be possible.

I just wanted to thank DICE for finally doing what was right and eliminating the pod surfing. It's had a pretty big impact on gameplay and officially eliminating it should make the game more enjoyable.

Beta been out for a month now, surely it can't be long until it's officially released.
